I might have some double sunshine coming my way soon and am wondering what its trading for. From what i understand this stuff is vt only and very localized in vt.
So whats it generally go for on the trade market?

Seems to do pretty well in terms of limited/seasonal releases. I put up an ISO a few weeks ago but got crickets.

    $9-10 per retail.

relatively difficult to obtain, even in VT.

most recent bottling/release was three weeks ago.

DS is quite possibly my favorite beer at the moment. as much as i enjoy 'sharing the love', i don't trade DS, as it's worth more to me than (almost) anything anyone could offer. or maybe it's because i do $4$ trades and i couldn't imagine $10 better spent on any other beer than DS.

my guess, double sunshine's trade value is...

    1) lower than it ought to be based on how good it tastes and how it stacks up to other DIPAs (e.g. heady)

    2) higher than it ought to be based on how easy it is to get if you get it

    with the largest decider being

    3) right around where you'd expect it for a beer that you can't usually get and is so delicious that few people are going to want to trade it.

    ----

"but that doesn't tell me anything at all!"

you're right. if you want to trade it, ask for what you're willing to give DS up for. if you want to trade for it, offer what you're willing to give up for it.

I traded a MOAS for 2 bottles of DS.

As stated by Pahn. Post your ISO and if you get crickets just adjust your expectations from there.

I offered up a couple bottles of New Glarus fruit slurry for one a while back and got the dreaded crickets.

I traded a bottle of Citra for a Double Sunshine and the world's most axiomatic trade was complete.

i think heady for zombie dust and alpine growler only for hill farmstead growler only also vie for that spot.

HT for ZD might drop a bit due to ABV difference and ounce difference, but alpine and HF have the beer geek trivia connection (anti ebay missives).

I would be interested in trading for those Double Sunshines. I am in the Kansas City are, we get a pretty good selection of things down here. Let me know what might interest you for a trade.

Anyone know when the next batch of DS will drop? I had some from the batch a couple weeks ago and want more.

Although true sometimes asking helps someone from getting taking advantage of.

I traded Arctic Devil for DS, bottle for bottle. It was shared with some BAs and everyone liked it.

send me a bottle. i'll drink it and depending on how i like it i'll send you something equitable in return. if the beer is legitimate, you'll make out well. if it doesn't stand up to what I can get down the street at my local pizza port well . . . you might not want to send me the beer.

DS will hold up to pretty much anything, I prefer it to HT and Citra. But that is like my opinion, and you may have different tastes.

If I lived in SD I am not sure I would even bother to trade.

How does a person in SD ever think, gee, I am tired of all the locals, let me trade for something?

It must be a completely karma thing, and I am glad for y'all that do it.

you're right of course but . . . i've found Michigan to be a pretty bad ass beer state.
