A single or sixer? What did you think of it? If I see a single I will try it but I don't think that I could commit to more than that, as regular TH is just okay to me.

Great questions...I bought 2 singles at CJ's Doghouse in Kulpsville on Friday. They had 6-8 left in the cooler. (Maybe they had more "in the back." Didn't ask.) It was $3.65 per, $20ish for a six, I guess, but they weren't selling sixes.

Bottom line on taste is "I'm glad I tried it." A little to boozy for me. What a lot of folks are calling sweetness I'd call alcohol. That being said I've never had an 11% ABV DIPA. I would drink this on occasion if more readily available (and if I had a DD). It looks wonderful and smells great. Just a little hot for my tastes.

TH is still king IMHO. It's one of those IPAs that I drink and think, "This is what it's supposed to taste like."

Snagged two six'res from local package store, had to request it and they kept it in the back. 17.00 a six pack, and they were dated 8/22. I've had only a handful of diap's above 10%, but this one I would rate in the top 3. Alcohol is well hidden, and the sweetness is not cloying or thick. Bitterness matches the malt, and the hops have a bite that doesn't get lost in the sweetness. Finishes with a warm alcohol heat that is pleasant....very happy I have eleven more

Now that I have tried it, I have no inclination to get more.

Picked up some today at TW in Winston Salem - I bet Gate City Blvd has some too! It came in today (only 7 cases total for Winston Salem Total Wine!)

What don’t you like about it? As an example I don’t like sweetish malty DIPAS, so I don’t like Hopslam. Is this beer along that line? If it is I can live without it.

I'll just post my review, simple but to the point:

    Bottled August 21st 2019.

Pours a hazy gold, loads of bubble action, a firm inch of foam.

The smell is of bitter hops, alcohol, and a big bill of sweet malt. 11% abv and it sure smells like every bit of it.

Hop bitterness taste that gets overrun by the alcohol and the strong malty sweetness. I'm drinking out of a Melvin Brewing glass so I know aboot double IPAs and know what fits in my comfort zone for the style. This is an outlier for me.

Smooth thickish mouthfeel, which is fine.

Dang, this is a chore to drink. Two Hearted yes, Double Two Hearted no.

Perhaps this one could benefit from some time as in, too fresh?

I know shangys in Lehigh valley had it, six pack limit. But I have not seen it anywhere and have stopped looking. I really don’t like regular two hearted all that much anyway.

I might think that big beers with that canning date aren’t exactly green, I’d think it’s more than likely to my palate that they just run downhill to more sweet and more malt. These big abv Ipas are really tough to pull off imo, they just lose balance. I happen to love 2H Ale, but I can see where Centennial Hops might not be able to carry an 11% beer.

Only loosely related to the topic but I got a chuckle out of this.

Personal tastes really are subjective, maybe on this beer more than a lot I've been following lately. About 1 out of every 3 or 4 reviews I read say this beer is hot tasting.

I've had three at different serving temperatures and glasses and don't get the hot taste at all. C'est la vie I guess.

Bound Beverage in Warrington has cases for $66 (last night, anyway). Cases only, at least that I could see. No six packs. I love regular Two Hearted but decided to pass on the case. I may pick up a sixer if I see one elsewhere.
