It’s the first time I’ve had this beer and I’m quite impressed. Lots of flavor that just assaults your palate. I would say it’s like an older Hopslam formula without the honey and a bit of extra booze. Quite nice! Although $17 a sixer makes this a once-a-year purchase.

There is a Hemmingway story in the Nick Adams series called "The Big Two Hearted River", which many say was based on the Fox river that flows through Seney in the UP of Michigan. The Two Hearted River is 25 miles to the North East.

Local, depends on your definition, Google says 398 miles to the Two Hearted from the brewery.

This might help, clip of the river.

I know nothing of Michigan, I’ve never even been there. I had heard once Two Hearted was named after a river, I figured it was close to the brewery lol.

It is a big state. In NY terms, Buffalo to a little east of Brooklyn.

What do I know of Michigan river swimmers. I figured one of them actually had two hearts. Like, you know, cows have two stomachs. And I've got two b...........Wait. Something's wrong here. I'll get back to you.

Packaged August 21st. I see some reviews that mention August 22nd. Kinda confused.

How much did they make? How much can they package a day?

Automatic dating on the label printer/applier? A large enough batch (although this beer is in short supply) that it took two days?
Here's a link to an Instagram video that shows rows of stacked pallets of this beer in the warehouse, and it seems like a lot of beer to me, but how long does it take a botttling machine to fill all of these bottles? (If you watch the video, turn your sound off so you don't listen to the crazy person!)

I haven't seen this beer yet here in Minnesota. If anyone has it, I'm willing to trade. Thanks.

They can run around 500 bottles a minute with ease. That is a lot of cases in a shift.

It is a big brewery, no idea what they made, but they have a large tank farm to ferment and dry hop these beers.

Google for a YouTube video that was popular a few years back, some guy hiking that saw "double rainbow all the way". It was a take off on that one.

Mine said 8/22. They had to make enough to justify the packaging!

Except here I guess, if the beer manager at a very popular retailer doesn’t know this beer exists I can assume it’s not available. We usually get shut out with good stuff, bet it gets into Raleigh or Charlotte.

I went back and looked at a hopslam thread from 2017, it was stated that they made >10000 bbl that year.

    A barrel holds about 330 12 oz bottles. So 10 k bbl is 3,300,000 bottles, 137500 cases.

Bottling at 500/minute will take about 5 days round the clock. Its a big operation. Of course some goes into kegs . It is easy to see why there are different package dates reported.

These numbers are guesses based on Hopslam volumes from 2 years ago. They have expanded capacities since then.

If anyone has better numbers, that would be great to see.

Its here but not everywhere. Picked some up at a bottle shop in Lansdale/Montco on Friday. Also stopped by a distributor who said that they weren't going to get it.
