I will be heading up to Dover at the end of the month and am looking for some recommendations for good bottle shops, craft beer bars or breweries in the area or within a reasonable driving distance.
    Any suggestions?

You'll be about 40 minutes from Dogfish Head's brewery. I'd say it's worth checking out if you like DFH. If you feel like driving about an hour, you can visit their pub in Rehoboth Beach.

These guys are brand new in Milford and are about 20 miles away, mispillionriverbrewing.com Also these guys are in Dover and Fordham is brewed there as well. http://www.olddominion.com/ It's mostly owned by InBev, but it's still a fun place to visit.

Hell yeah, might just do that! An hour isn't too bad of a ride to enjoy some fresh beers and grab some brewery swag!

If you are headed down the 40 minutes add 15 minutes to that and just head into Rehoboth and hit their brewpub, tons of brewpub exclusives, they have a swag stand there too, and on Rt. 1 there are some good bottle shops just outside of Rehoboth, Atlantic Liquors and Outlet Liquors.

Good shit man! I'll be checking in Thursday evening and I think I'll take that route early Friday and check the bottle shops for goodies I can't find here or in SE VA!
Really considering taking a ride to DC Brau Saturday...I've yet to get any OTWOA in my belly.

Check their FB about OTWOA. They canned some at the beginning of the year, but have been selling them every week since. They will run out at some point.

True enough...either way, I hope they still have some on tap, I'd settle for a growler fill! Missed it on tap in VA by a day at a local pizza place :slight_frown:

Anyone know of DC Brau is normally crowded on their tasting/tour days? I'm trying to figure out how much earlier than noon I should be showing up!

Bumping this because I'm in Dover now, got in yesterday afternoon. We opted against heading in to DC today although I really wanted to get ahold of some OTWOA...

Question is, I there any craft bars in the area with an awesome tap list?

in Dover, the best you'll find is probably Restaurant 55. Otherwise, you'll need to head south towards Rehoboth. Not a bad idea, since its only ~50 minutes away. If you make the trek, hit up Henlopen City Oyster House.

Awesome! Yeah, I looked in to DFH, the website says 7 days a week so I'm gonna hit that on the way back to NC tomorrow. Looks like Restaurant 55 will be the destination for dinner tonight!

Brewery is closed tomorrow but the Pub should be open.
