I searched this forum for any recent questions son the Mt Snow Dover area. Found a place called Apres Vous but then saw its now closed...

So.... could y’all please recommend places near Mt Snow and West Dover for b/ ottles and cans of local VT stuff? Also restaurants? I’ve read also about a local 7-11 but what do they carry?

    thanks.

Will you be driving through Brattleboro on your way up?

If so, The Brattleboro Coop has nice selection.

Didn’t plan on it. Coming north from NY but may hit Whetstone Station and thus Brattleboro the next day...thanks for the coop reference

Ratus in Wilmington has a decent selection. Bought some BUrlington Beer and Frost last time through. aIf you want to travel 30-40 mins north Meulemans in Rawsonville is great. They keep the inventory updated on BeerMenus.

As for restaurants... that’s a little tougher. Station Tap room at Mount Snow has solid stuff. Lots of places in the valley will have Fiddlehead IPA. 1846 typically has a couple decent taps. New pizza place, Scalia has promise but beer was lacking. Only Fiddlehead last time. Beer Naked toward Brattleboro on 9 has had some good beers.

PS apres vous has been gone for >5 yrs

Thanks! So sounds like not a lot in Dover.

I guess if I have to venture to Brattleboro or Wilmington, I will.

THanks. Having researched this forum and realizing Apres vous was long gone, I figured an updated thread was a good call. Thank you again.

Make sure to hit Hermit Thrush when you are there. Great place with really well executed sours. Enjoy.

West Dover and Wilmington are essentially beer wastelands as far as good taps. The best you can do is Station Tap room at Mt. Snow. One More Time and 1846 Tavern usually has a few decent options but nothing crazy.

As already mentioned, highly recommend Brattleboro Coop, Whetstone, and Hermit Thrush if you do make it to Brattleboro. Meuleman's off the Stratton Access road is also very solid.

Yup, Station Tap room is your best bet

We were up there about two years ago. There’s a pizza place somewhere nearby that’s awesome and serves some good VT stuff (HF I think?)

I just lower my expectations when I go to Mt Snow area and enjoy the fact that at least Fiddlehead IPA is a mainstay even at places like The Last Chair.

Ok so here are my observations:

The Last Chair had great food and OK beer selection. Fiddlehead was OK.

1864 was ok in terms for brews and selection. The wait staff was meh...

The 7-11 in West Dover was indeed nice. Got some 14th Star as well as decent liquor.

The wife visited Canned at Mt Snow and they had an awesome selection of cans including 14th Star and Upper Pass, Rock Art Too. But all to drink on premises.

Hoping to check Brattleboro Coop tomorrow and see if they have Upper Pass cans to take home there.

    Update:

Brattleboro was a good stopping point . Whetstone Station was a short walk from the Coop. Whetstone turned. Out sa great pair of burgers for the lady and I. Also, some great options for the kids AND the best part? 4 meals and 2 drinks? 65 bucks. Not bad.....

The Brattleboro coop did have Frost, bldg 8, Burlington and Upper Pass. Not a bad selection.

BUT I guess I missed the memo that they dont sell singles. I mixed a 4 pack, all the same price, and some Ava Gardner employee chased me down at the register, saying I couldn’t mix 4 packs.

It was funny, she approached the register as if I was shoplifting. I told her they were all the same price and she just said it didnt matter, she could not mix 4;s, so I told her she lost the sale. Penny wise, poundfoolish.....

Bennington Beverage is a great spot for carry out when driving to Mt Snow from the south or east. I remember getting Foley Bros, Zero Gravity, Burlington and 14th Star there two years ago. They also said they get HF there but were out when I stopped.

The Cannery is a great addition to the main base area, tons of great choices, most of them from VT.

And Burlington Beer Single Hop Simcoe is delicious
