    With Dovetail coming off of the worst financial week in their history, how about we all resolve to stop by for curbside within the next week or two and get some cans? That won’t make up for what they could get with a patio, but it sounds like they’ve been hit by the post Memorial Day lull combined with on-premise starting up elsewhere.

    They should put up one of those like, thermometers with a goal each week to encourage people to buy beer. They could even put it in like, 4 packs terms.

    My stock of Dovetail has dwindled to 1 can of Helles and 1 can of Lager left from last weekend's trip. Your proposed objective lines up well with my purchasing priorities for the weekend.

    Yup. I’ll be placing an order today or tomorrow. Best beer flavored beer in Chicago.

    You mean their beer tastes like beer? All jokes aside my lager stash has also gotten dangerously low

    That's their (well-deserved) go-to line - "Beer that tastes like beer." Tho, I might modify it to "Deliciously awesome beer that tastes like beer."

    Ding, ding, ding, ding.
    This pushed it into the "go" column.
    Heading there Friday also for the "Beer Hero" program. :slight_smile::beer:
    Bonus beer: Since I'll be on the #80 Irving Park bus, will stop in at Burning Bush Brwy. to see what it has. :grin:

    Dammit! I missed out on the Kolsch again!!! :angry:
    That was the main reason I was heading up there today!
    This is just not turning out to be a good beer day.:cry:

    Kolsch all out at the brewery? I’m just like you, can’t seem to get out there quick enuff, or more accurately at all! Lol, damn :-(

    Just got back from a curbside pickup. Service couldn't have been nicer. And the Brewer's Dozen is a good deal. 12 4-paks for the price of 11. It's good only on the $9.98/4-pak beers, but well worth it. You can get all of one beer or do the "U PICK IT" where you pick which beers you want.

    I know they have been campaigning for this, but I'm just not sure how much this helps them...

    In addition, bars, taverns and breweries can offer outside services beginning Wednesday.

    That means outdoor patios, rooftops, rooms with retractable roofs and indoor spaces where 50% or more of a wall can be removed by opening windows, doors, or panels.

    My understanding is that they wanted to convert that back parking lot into a "patio"/"beer garden" - with this, they can do that and apply for one of these expedited permits.

    See my reply in this thread about a brewpub | restaurant with a retractable roof.
    This release will move a potential "no comment" comment from me into a regular comment.
    I got to Dovetail. I opted for a 4-pack of its Maibock ($18.00).
    Ehhh boy. Well, Dovetail needs my support. :flushed:
    This Maibock is on the razor's edge of being too smoky for my tastes. I apologize, but this is my Achilles' Heel, especially when it occurs in a craft beer style I usually enjoy.
    I got through the first 16-oz. can. It is in the refrigerator. Did it taste differently as it warmed? No. But perhaps having just been put in the fridge after a terse span of being outdoors {for this I could be thankful the temperature was refreshingly cool}, it had not gotten cold enough for its taste to swerve. I will have another can of this. But I will have the other beers in the fridge before then. {One more can of that Urban Renewal Zwickel.}

    The potential "no comment" would have been affixed to Burning Bush Brwy. When I got there, I was directed to walk through its indoor bar to its 'patio'. Can you call five little tables with standing room for two patrons a 'patio'? Can you qualify as a restaurant by serving cheese and crackers; breadsticks; and beef sticks? :confounded:
    I would not want to be somebody who blew the whistle (and not Noon Whistle) and got a venue shut down for flouting a regulation. :grimacing:
    I bought a howler of Broken Bread Oatmeal Stout ($13.50 for beer and new -branded- howler). It is not yet packaging.
    This beer was true to style. Balanced, easy sipping. I did have to drink it swiftly when brought back to the abode, but it was not drunk in one session. This brewpub has a location which could remind you of Metropolitan's tap room. It will get another shot from me.

    I've submitted the details of these 'Beer Hero' purchases to the concern promoting the scheme. Its location on N. Ravenswood Ave. is adjacent to where was the "Record Warehouse"; a store where I bought cutout LPs by the pound {actually $1.25 each} back in the late 1970s. {And those LPs are still stored on the inside back porch here. :grin:}

    I passed by Eris Brewing on Irving Park yesterday and the parking lot full of spaced (and completely full) tables serving several dozen patrons. Evanston brewery Temperance has a "tailgate" option in their parking lot. Mikerphone expanded their patio to the side adjacent to their new building. Based on the enforced rules and observations, all locations operated safely, and folks were enjoying a respite from 3 months of lockdown. Mikerphone, the only I drank at among the three, was very stringent about explaining and enforcing rules, they are doing an excellent job.

    This is in contrast restaurants serving booze in both Edison Park and Park Ridge which have been completely packed of close together outdoor tables and patrons on top of each other.

    Nice to see bars and breweries which HAVE been operating consistent with guidelines given equal footing to "restaurants" in Chicago.

    Yep, that was the thinking -- a temporary, carefully-planned beer garden in our parking lot -- should we get the permit. We had to get thru this one big hoop in hopes to get thru this other one. We're optimistic, but who knows. But we're truly happy for our friends, like Sleeping Village, who can semi-reopen under these expanded rules. There's at least a level playing field now.

    Canned 2 days ago and Dovetail has Kölsch on straight lockdown! Why buy anything else at all, perfection!

    Ain’t no doubt Kid Kolsch is great too. Drank a couple cases last year and and couple 6ers this year. But Dovetail wins this war by a country mile!
