I've not had any of their lambics or wild ales. Perhaps others can add any recommendations here.

I've only had their Kriek among the ones listed. Binny's 2019 Barrel Aged Classic event had many great offerings. Dovetail Kriek is the one I returned to for refills, was excellent. That said, it received mixed comments regarding price and taste in this forum, though people taking the time to rate have scored it high.

Here is Josh Noel's review of their 2018 version: https://www.chicagotribune.com/dining/ct-food-drink-this-dovetail-kriek-20180706-story.html

    Josh's take mirrored mine.

I'm sure they're all great. I've had Quetche (plum) and it was excellent.

Even by Rockford? I'd have to check that. I'm not drinking much, but would fill the fridge with this.

Maybe someone can help this technology illiterate guy out. I just ordered through Dovetail drops and the screen says the order will be arriving between 2:30pm to 3pm today. I thought the drop day for the suburbs is Thursday. How has this worked for others?

Ignore that estimate, I think that is just built into the ordering system they use and they can't turn it off. They will see your address is in the proper zone and deliver sometime on the correct day. You should get an e-mail confirming it.

Can anyone confirm if Dovetail adjusted their shipping costs? I’m confident a cart of 16 cans was around $18 to CT and 24 cans was at $30 back in January. Now it’s $30 and $50, respectively. Regret hesitating when it was first offered.

I have not checked out the shipping menu until now, but can’t imagine $30/case would have been offered. On their regular menu (for to-go & local delivery), the beers at the lowest price point go for $10/4pk before tax & fees, which equates to $60/case. You have to buy two cases to get a discount, which comes out to $55/case. However, on same regular menu, they currently have a special deal for $26/half-case or $50/case of Helles, Hefe, Kolsch, or Dunkel (which I have never seen them offer before). Nonetheless, the prices you recall still seem off.

Not sure how you got those current figures of $30/16cans & $50/case, as I’m getting $40 & $55, respectively. On the shipping menu, their lowest price point beers are $12/4pk, $28/half-case, & $55/case. So that would be $40 ($12+$28) for 16 cans.

Hope that gives you peace of mind if no one else is able to weigh in!

I highly recommend trying their house lager, simply called ‘Lager.’ Previously, it was only available on-draft at their taproom (as well as a few craft bars from time to time). Dovetail has described Lager as a "Franconian-inspired pale lager." It might be my favorite beer period.

I'm 99% sure he means the cost to ship a case, not the cost for a case of beer.

I’m not in the shipping game, but $50 shipping on top of a $55 case sure sounds excessive. Same with $30 shipping on top of $40 (for 16 cans). I thought the higher prices on the shipping menu (as opposed to regular menu) might even include the shipping costs...

Definitely excessive, here’s what my four 4 pack configuration looks like:

Need to cut that shipping cost by 50%

It's possible they had to switch shipping services/carriers at some point, hence the (unfortunate) shipping charge change. Maybe @OleWorm can confirm for you.
