Downingtown, PA Day Trip

    Hiya, hep cats & hep kittens! It's yer friendly neighborhood monk, Bro. Woody of The Order of Disorder comin' yer way. I just wrapped up twelve (12) straight days at work & i'm feeling restless. Feel me? PHL is OK, but for a real day trip from LNCPA, nowhere beats Downingtown, PA!

    Laughter? Hey, back inna day, I would totes agree. It used to be the place to avoid at all cost as their economy hit the skids. Now? It's a destination!

    I used to haul a group from LNCBC aht there ~ quarterly & that was just to have breakfast at the corner diner down from the train station, hit Victory & come home. Now? Ten (10) hours may not be enough!

    I plan on a 1004 arrival, followed by a 2020 departure. Inna interim? Drunken debauchery!

    I dunno if it will be next Tuesday (07 December 2021) or Wednesday (08 December 2021) as yet. Help me to decide! I'd love to reCANect in this COVID era. I'm vaxed & boostered + I prefer a mask as a CANcer survivor. Let's paint the town red!

    Both of those days are out for me Woody as I'm gearing up for a canning run at Midnight Oil Brewing on 12/10. We should definitely get together for another pub crawl though!

    I'm always down for a pub crawl, but now that I am at the USPS & we are into the Christmas Rush season, it'll have to wait until next year. My drop days are Tuesday & Wednesday with W being the more ideal of the two.

    UPDATE

    Mother Nature has helped me to make my decision re. day & date. It will be Tuesday, 07 December 2021 in advance of the pending inclement weather.

    If you haven't visited East Branch BC yet I recommend doing so. They're brewing some very good beers.

    Woody, glad to hear about your return engagement to D’town. Some of the interesting beers on tap at Victory are the 2021 versions of Storm King (nice tasty hop profile) and Baltic Thunder. Also some beers brewed at the new Victory brewpub in Philly. And several Sixpoint brews are available on draft. Remember on weekdays between 4 and 6 pm, all 22-oz draft pours are only $4.00. If you’re there around 4pm, I’ll probably see you. Also, I agree that EBBC is brewing some fine brews that you would enjoy. Cheers - RR

    Wednesday is definitely a better day to hit breweries than Tuesday. East Branch has a good happy hour, and respectable classical styles. If you really want to get wild, I'd recommend hitting Troubles End in Collegeville. Half price taps and growlers on Tuesdays. Animated Brewing is also pretty close. Artillery in West Chester is a fun stop, but I wouldn't recommend Wrong Crowd, as they are pretty bad. Levante Stables, Stolen Sun worth a stop as well. Locust Lane is also a nice spot to hit.
