    Hello NE BA’s!
I’m going to be in Boston next week for a conference, staying at the Park Plaza. Are there any decent bottle shops within walking distance? I’d like to bring some beer home and also partake a few while there. Any advice on pub’s or tap rooms to visit would also be appreciated very much.

I’ll bite since I’m an out of towner and have been in you shoes. I dont have as much info on bars as others might.

You can check all boxes in one city block.. all depends on your definition of “walking distance”. Might need an Uber.

    Row 34
-last time I was in Boston this was the best taplist by far and the food is tits, although not cheap.

    Trillium Fort Point
    - don’t need to say much. Maybe the reference for the modern IPA, or at least one of the top three. It falls pretty far after those three. Their selection is starting to broaden more and more. Just cans and growler fills to go however. Check out their spot at the Garden on the Greenway to drink pours in town.

    Fort Point Market
    - best bottle shop I went to. The selection will make your head explode. Literally almost too much beer.

You’ll need to cab it to most of the other decent breweries. Lamplighter and Cambridge Brewing Co might be the closest? I didn’t get to go to Cambridge when I was in town last which bummed me out. From what I gather they probably make the widest range of styles in town and some of the best quality you’ll find. They’re kind of an OG when it comes to brewing sour beers in the US.

I'd say @wasatchback hit the nail on the head...not bad for an out of towner! For places that are within walking distance of the OP's hotel, you can easily walk across the Common to a bottle shop called Gordon's Downtown Crossing (10 min walk), which allows you to buy singles and 4-packs. Right across the street is a bar called Stoddard's which has a great tap list and cocktails, decent food. If you like a good burger, don't sleep on JM Curley's. Gordons/Stoddards/JM Curley are within 50 yards of each other. Within walking distance that area, you also have the following bars/restaurants with good tap lists: The Merchant (5 min. walk), The Kinsale (8 min), Tip Tap Room (12 min), and The Gingerman (12 min).

If you walk the other direction into Back Bay up Boylston, you're about a 15 minute walk from The Urban Grape bottle shop on Columbus. Just around the corner is a great restaurant called The Salty Pig.

The closest spot to your hotel I'd suggest is Parish Cafe. They'll have some good local stuff and tasty sandwiches.

A new brewery opened yesterday next to Gordon's called Democracy Brewing.

I prefer Gordon's but another good shop within walking distance is Charles Street Liquors. From there you are a walk over the bridge/1 stop on the red line from Kendall Square where Cambridge brewing and Lamplighter Brewery are.

Picco is a 12 minute walk from your hotel. Good beer, pizza and ice cream.
