Hey guys. I'm going to be in Buffalo for a night and a day next week (Tues-Wed). I'm staying downtown and have meetings in the morning in Wednesday. I'm really looking for a good lunch spot on Wed downtown. Pearl Street Grill popped on the places search here, but the reviews are mixed and it seems like a classic 90's style (kinda lame)brewpub. Is it worth a stop or are there other places downtown that are better options for lunch? Thanks for your help.

I work downtown buffalo and frequent all the lunch spots. What are you looking for? Pearl Street has pretty good beer options but food is pub food. If you post more about what your looking for I could probably help more. For food I recommend checking out Osteria or The Lodge, possibly Tappo or Dinosaur BBQ. If either the Osteria or "The Lodge" menus look good to you, you won't be disappointed....good chefs and quality joints...enjoy Buffalo

Thanks. I'm generally a brewpub guy, used to work next to Portsmouth Brewery and frequent Cambridge Brewing now. But Pearl Street doesn't have great reviews for its beer, so I wasn't sure. I'm staying at the Embassy Suites
Anything with a decent craft tap list and a burger works for me. I didn't realize the Dinosaur was so close. Might be a good option.

Pearl street is a big place and has been around for a long time. I definitely think they are worth a visit. There are micro brews popping up all over WNY. Old first ward brewing (been around for about a year) at gene McCarthies (established restaurant) has better beers, though a much smaller place (great friendly neighborhood bar). Big ditch just opened their tasting room recently but haven't opened restaurant yet. Custom brew crafts, resurgence, and hamburg also have good beers and I see their taps all over as they distribute kegs locally. If I think of anything else I'd recommend I'll let you know.

Sorry meant community beer works, not custom brew crafts....though the latter is not far away and very good...lmk how you do.

Blue monk or coles on elmwood, allen burger bar just opened on allen. None are breweries but all have very solid tap lists, and would only be a 5 min cab from where you are

Blue monk is the only place that will be worth your time in the city. Allen burger venture isn't serving food until next week but they have a good tap list. Cole's has a decent tap list but the food is hit or miss depending on the chef of the day.

Thanks for all the tips. Looks like I have a few decent options to choose from.
