Jerry's is up near Hopleaf. Half Acre and Bad Apple not too far either. Local Option is just south of your hotel. Food wise, Pork Shoppe and Kuma's near your hotel on Belmont

Near/close/not far are all pretty relative. Kuma's and Pork Shoppe are over two miles away -- Kuma's Too and Sheffield's are much closer for your burger/BBQ needs. If you're a fan of Thai, Andy's Thai Kitchen is spectacular. I wouldn't try to combine a trip to Half Acre/Bad Apple with Hopleaf. Simon's is near Hopleaf and is a great dive bar. Jerry's, suggested above, is close to Hopleaf. Acre is worth visiting, too, as is Norse Bar if you want head further upon Clark Street.

Lol, Laschett's has a good variety too. Does it still have a pool table? I dont like joints with a pool table. <True story> I once had a midget swing a cue at me once after he lost a game at laschett's so I stayed at Resis from then on. plus i knew the owner.

Both are old style German stubes that have kept their connection to the old country. I used to like the Brauhaus too on the 4700 block of Lincoln ave. Another old country gem, tho its been many years since Ive been to any of them.

Well theres an Italian joint on the 2800 block of Clark, on the east side, that serves family style. Theres another, a smaller joint, on like the 3300 block on the east side. Again i forget the name but I recommend both. The Riv is at Lawrence and Racine right? Lol I remember when it was a trouble joint.

I say run Lawrence to Damen and go south 8 block to the huge intersection of Damen/Lincoln/Irving. Sitting there at 2034 is Resis Bierstube. A little west, on the other side of the street, is laschetts Inn. You wont regret either but im not sure how late they serve food to. Enjoy the night.
