Hi all, My parents are in downtown Chicago for one more day before they head back to NY. I am picking them up at the airport tomorrow and in exchange they said they would pick me up a few beers from the area that we can't get here. I am definitely looking for FFF (especially ZD), New Glarus and Surly. Where, if possible, could they acquire beers from these breweries in the area? Thanks!
Have them go to Binnys Lincoln Park or South Loop. Both have a great selection of local only beer. They won't find New Glarus (WI only) but probably a few cans of Surly and some FFF (but probably not ZD). The staff can tell them what's good that's not distro'd outside of the area. Revolution, Pipeworks, Half Acre, and 18th St, among others are all good options.
Give Warehouse Liquors and Printer's Row Wine Shop a call. Good selectio at both. No New Glarus is available in IL, Surly should be everywhere, ZD may be a little tough but around. Spiteful makes some damn good beer as well.
Thanks for the quick responses guys. I will see which they are closer to. Hate to have them running around on their last day in the city. Would love to make it easy on them. Completely forgot about Pipeworks! Been wanting to try their beers for a long time. Hopefully they can find some Pipeworks and Surly. Guess I didn't know that New Glarus was WI only.
