Staying at Hampton Inn on Vine Need recommendations for good craft beer bars/bottle shops in walking distance Also a good place to get a steak Thanks
I have no idea on good craft beer bars or bottle shops in that area. But for steak you should go to Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse. You can walk there from your hotel.
Lotsa choices. There's a Yardhouse along the riverside as well as Christian Moerlein ale house( not to be missed). My favorite place is Rheingeist brewing but a close second is Tafts in an old church in Over The Rhine. All basically walking distance from Vine downtown, if you're reasonably fit.....
Not sure about walking distance but Urban Artifact has very good fruited/sour beers and the taproom is really cool. It's a basement of an old church (entrance is on the side if you're an idiot like me). Streetside had some good hazy IPA's. Rheingeist is going to be the most crowded brewery you're around but I honestly thought their stuff was pretty basic. They also don't have food if I remember correctly. Also if you're willing to make the trek across the bridge and into Kentucky, braxton labs in the back of a giant liquor store is great.
If you make it to Urban Artifact, Humble Monk Brewing is just a block away. The rooftop beer garden @ Rhinegeist is very nice. https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...-favorite-brewery-rooftop-beer-garden.610566/ The Sam Adams Cincy taproom is between Tafts and Rhinegeist.
Old folks tend not to like Rheingeist, "damn Hipsters", but really it's a great place to visit and enjoy a few beers, it is a great place to interact with others who like classic styles and not after barellaged sour whiskey chip fruited Brett bier de gardes......
My $.02 out of the things mentioned... Rhingeist: yes, but only if the rooftop is open. Moerlein Lager House: yes Taft's Ale House: yes Jeff Ruby's: yes You should also go to The Eagle and get a beer and some fried chicken...because it's the best chicken ever. Then, after The Eagle, walk across the street and get some Graeter's ice cream...because it's the best ice cream that exists in the world. Liberty's Bar and Bottle is OK too. Usually a good selection on tap and they sell bottles to go.
I was at March 1st brewing on the east side shortly after they opened; pretty good brews, anyone been there recently?
Graeter’s for sure. The best. Went to Reds Cubs series last year and discovered Taste of Belgium. Wound up going 2 more times during a 3 day trip! The sour/wild selection was top notch. Exceptional. A couple of blocks from stadium.
