Howdy west coasters, I'm going to be in SF the week of Jan. 27th through Jan 31st for my work sales conference (LinkedIn) and they're putting us up in the Hilton right off Market. Just curious if there's a place I can get to easily (given I have no car) that may have Pliny the Elder bottles?

Figure it's a long shot but wanted to ask. If there are other cool things out & available during this timeframe, I'd be interested in pretty much anything I can't get on the east coast too.

Lastly, I don't suppose Alpine beers make it to NorCal? I already know that I'm apparently never going to try Kern Citra lol (though I would love to try anything at all by Kern).

    Thanks peeps!

    Pliny:
Cask at 3rd and Market often has it when others don't.
Whole Foods SOMA at 4th & Harrison gets Pliny many Wednesdays. (On New Year's Eve, I got a bottle of Pliny bottled that day. I kid you not.)
    City Beer Store.

Cask and Whole Foods are your best bets for Pliny. You won't find Alpine bottles up here though.

So it turns out I'm now free for just about all of Thursday the 30th, so I think I'm going to rent a car and take the trip up to Russian River to visit the brewpub, have lunch, etc.

Anyone know the bottle limits for purchase?

That's perfect, thanks. Oh, quick follow-up...is that 6 total or per type of available bottle?

Not in bottles but I've had Pliny a few times on tap in the restaurant, Urban Tavern, that is located in that hotel. They also had Blind Big and few other good ones on tap as well as a bottle list.

It's different every time I go. I have personally never heard of them putting a limit on their sours, but since they're $12 each most people don't buy a lot. I mean, come on, the Beatification limit was TWELVE!

A friend out there told me he went Sunday and the Pliny limit was 6. No limit on Supplication (that's what they had).

They don't usually have limits on their regular sours

Just ask for a case. They don't always enforce the 6 bottle limit rule. Worst case they say no.

That's weird, the last couple of times I've been up there, it's been a six bottle limit per person (twelve per table) on everything- Pliny, Blind Pig and the sours.

And I appreciate it's too late for the OP, but Toronado often has bottles of Pliny for sale- 6 per person, $6 each.

sorry, didn't see this until now

I made out great! brought a local friend with me so I came home w/ 8ea. of Pliny & Pig, 3 of Supplication. But I see on their website they now have Consecration bottles, so you're in luck!
