    Hi all,

I'll be in SF for the next month for work (staying in Financial District). Looking for recommendations on best beer bars that I should check out. Thanks in advance!

Mikkeller and cellarmaker. City Beer is good, but ambiance sucks.

In addition to what's been mentioned Crafty Fox has good tap list and usually some interesting packaged stuff to go, prices on the higher side though.

Garaje on 3rd is awesome for food and taplist. Beer Hall is solid and does half pours. K&L for bottles.

Wynn Whisenhunt of Bartlett Hall won three gold medals, a silver and best in show at the LA International Beer Competition. Hell yeah.

Finally made it out to Bartlett Hall today. Had everything on the board and was impressed overall. I really enjoyed Pio Pico and Dreamrider and was hoping to get a fill of the former but could not get one because of their archaic policy of filling only their own branded growlers.

I like Hopwater Distribution, nearby to the financial district.
    Good taplist and food.

That's not true. I don't know why that happened. I've filled many growlers there and none of them have been their own.

WTF. Maybe the server didn't know, but he said he asked the manager. I even had a generic growler too. Do you have a name of the person that calls the shots there?

I don't. Did you have the growler covered?

Servers at Bartlett Hall are notoriously uninformed and incompetent.

It was a blank growler. The server said his manager specifically stated only their branded growlers can be filled.
