The one that I just could not do was Stone Belgo Anise RIS. Probably my least favorite beer of all time.

    Infected Ithaca Old Habit

Those 2 aren't the only ones but hey certainly are the 2 that come to mind first.

Yea, that one was pretty disappointing but I thought the Belgo Old Guardian was worse...

I agree. What a horrid mess that beer was.

I'm wondering if people drainpour because they don't like how the beer tastes (or it didn't age well) or because the beer itself went bad? I'm asking because tonight I cracked open a Claymore Scotch Ale from Great Divide that was just awful. I like the style, I tend to like their beers, but this was either bad or infected.

flying dog gonzo imperial porter....it was from 2006 i think ....tasted like raisiny sugared wet cardboard..and it poured super lumpy.....

i have had about 3 infected abyss 09's...only one was super fruity and a bit vinegary enough to drainpour...

san miguel light......one of the grossest goddamned things i have ever had in my mouth..(and that is saying a lot)...

That beer grossed me out as well. A trick I did to avoid a drain pour was to mix it with oj in order to make a Brass Monkey and Mimosa abomination that ended up being quite enjoyable.

I had one at Christmas, loved it, having another one this year (four bottles left). I know people had issues with Idiot's Drool but I've never seen a Weyerbacher go bad, even at seven years old.

Stone Belgo Anise RIS (tastes of beef jerky and licorice)
Laughing Dog BBA Dogfather RIS (probably infected)
    Duck Rabbit Baltic Porter (infected)
Evil Twin Biscotti Break (way over carbonated and oxidized taste) Note: not the imperial which I love
1/3rd of a bottle of Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast Weasel (major lumps and chunks)

Many other drain pours came from one beer run due to heavy oxidization from staying in a store cooler that was sealed badly for many months. I guess I know now why they had so much good stuff in there still.

Round Guys Berlinner Weiss in a bar in Philly. Didn't drain pour it, just gave it to the waiter to get rid of. Tasted like bad cheese, gross bad cheese. Told waiter something was wrong and then proceeded to tell me that it is the best berliner weiss and is supposed to be cheesy, he see's people holding there nose and drinking it. He also told me that a beer i ordered was the best one on tap but he has yet to taste it.

O'Fallen Wheach. Foisted on me by a bartender when I asked him for a wheat beer I had not had yet tried. I really tried but could not stomach it, and my palette was wrecked after that one. What I learned? I think to stay away from O'Fallen; if they signed off on that stuff, I don't trust em on iota.

I was shocked at how nasty this beer was -> http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1304/35935 (Grand Cru De Pelican)

I brought a bottle back directly from the brewery (during my visit) and man... it tasted like... rotten soy sauce (not that I know what rotten soy sauce would taste like).

What is funny is, it smelled really really really good. Too bad it tasted like shit. Maybe my bottle had something wrong with it. I shared with 4 other guys and we all poured it down the drain.

Three memorable pours would be Stone 2011 Old Guardian (fresh), Infinium (fresh), and Dark Horse Bourbon Barrel Aged Perkulator (2/2 were totally flat, fresh and with 6 months). I'm fairly certain Dark Horse has issues with their 750ml carbonating, I know the lambeeks were troublesome the previous year. One of my King of the Forest from this last 4Elf had low carb, the other was fine.

    Recent drainpours:

-Laughing Dog The Dogfather imperial stout and Alpha Dog imperial IPA. These were both on clearance at my local store so I should have known better (at least with the IIPA) but I figured "what the hell?" when I was already loading up on other stuff. The IPA smelled and tasted like a mix of too-sweet ginger ale and sweaty boxer shorts, but that was probably at least partly due to being past its shelf life. I don't really think that shelf life should be an excuse for the imperial stout though. This smelled like it was going to be pretty good (typical coffee and roast notes), and then tasted absolutely awful. Sort of like if someone took a stout, then dumped a glass of wine and an ashtray into it. Both of these beers were shared liberally and yet plenty still went down the drain.

-DFH Ta Henket. A friend bought and shared this one and not me, thank god. I didn't even finish half my small tasting pour before it was over the side of the patio. The less said about this mess of a "beer" the better.
