This beer finally arrived here in town, I passed today because I thought I heard that this hasn't been brewed in a while. Am I correct, or is this a new batch? Thanks and cheers!
They made a big deal out of making another batch of Prieta, but I never heard anything about a second batch of Coma.
If it's the original batch, AVOID AVOID AVOID. It fell off really quickly (as you'd expect a double-dry-hopped IPA to do). Like stupac2, I only heard about a second batch of Prieta when I was last at the brewery. I asked about a second batch of Coma and the impression I got was that none was forthcoming -- but that doesn't mean I got the right info.
I want to say there was a second batch, but I can't be 100% certain. I just drank a bottle tonight that had a bottle date of 8/17 on it. I know...I was shocked to even see a date on a Drakes beer. I know they recently purchased a bottle dating machine but hadn't seen anything up to this point with a date on it. It was a very faint black stamp on the neck of the bottle. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that if anybody was drinking AC before 8/17 (I think it initially came out before then) then there most likely were multiple batches. That's my logic, but doesn't mean I'm right.
A wave of Aroma Coma arrived in San Francisco about a month ago. I didn't notice a date stamp, but the beer was damn tasty.
There is definitely a new batch of Aroma Coma, a very nice person let me have some from a growler last night that was 2 days old.
Also, the new batch of Prieta will be on tap tonight at the Original Gravity grand opening and next week at Good Karma.
This is good news. I have seen it pop up in Sac, and wasn't sure if it was the original batch from a while ago. Looks like I can pick up some fresh bottles with less worry.
Yep...just confirmed with the sources. An unannounced batch has been made....washing growlers now... Only 1 keg.. Edit: This just in.....there are NO new bottles, just those held back from the distributors.
Saw some AC at Bevmo Thurs night, but I got a couple bombers of Denogginizer instead. Also grabbed 2 12 oz of the Saison Du Buff to try.Never tried a Saison yet.
They (I mean ALL) need to put a date on these bottles. Especially IPA's. So many places will keep the beers in the back and not in the cooler and put them out when they feel like it. I had many bad bottles that I would pour out. I just bought a keg of Hop Ottin IPA that was dated 8-30-2012 (which is fine). But they had another same Hop Ottin Keg that was dated 4-15-2012! If I wasnt looking for a date and grabbed the other keg I would of been screwed.
