Love the stuff. I also found (for me and my tastes personally) that it seems similar to a fresh Odell's IPA.

Aroma Coma is very good, wish I could get Drakes in Illinois.

Aroma Coma and Aroma Prieta are both incredibly solid IPAs for about a month. Aroma Coma was regularly in my fridge from mid July to mid August. Really good stuff.

The 1500 Pale Ale is where it's at! Their IPA is no slouch when it's fresh too. Fresh Denogginizer is hitting shelves right now, we had a keg last week at work that was crazy good, tapped out in one day though. I need to hit up the Barrel House again soon.

Hell yes! I think the Bros should revisit this one. The recipe has clearly changed in the last year or two. It's been a very well received extra on trades to our midwest and east coast comrades too! I'd put it up against a lot of the hyped pales out there....yes, even ZD.

What everyone else said. Drake's is probably the closest brewery to me. The 1500 is solid, but their IPA and denoganizer suffer when compared to the other great local IPAs. Aroma Coma is my favorite IPA that gets distro up here and Hopocalypse is up there too.

My vote goes out for their Hop Salad. Easily my favorite DIPA from Drake's and wish they'd bottle it up. I guess I'll have to settle for once every 3 years or so...

As for Aroma Coma, I found the first year of bottling the best. I think it was 2 years ago. Still great stuff though.

Drake's makes killer IPA's/DIPA's. I love them all. Hope they expland more and we can get their stuff in Philly.

If Drake's renamed 1500 Pale Ale to Drake's Exxxtreme Session IPA, it would be rated at 95+

That's a good point, actually. 1500 is a lackluster name and doesn't really provoke interest. You see it on the shelf and it's easily forgettable. I'm kind of surprised that they haven't done it already considering they seem to be adept at coming up with some great names for their other beers.

I've been drinking Aroma Coma on tap every chance I get. It's definitely one of those beers that's still local and under the radar but so delicious! And unlike the Denog I can have more than one and still stand up.

Does anyone know if Aroma Coma is bottled once--like a special release--or continuously during its season? I saw bombers of it on the shelves at Trader Joe's (loved the price!) up until a week or two ago...

Totally. A New label helps too.

Pretty sure it's one and done, annually. Every bottle I came across was bottled 7/15.
