From reading their fb/blog from last year bottles of black only made it through half the day. Sounds like they are doing more batches this year and they said they are doing growlers of all three beers, so hopefully they are doing more bottles as well. All that said taking a road trip with the family and planning on getting there right at opening.

Hopefully the Black Label is better this year--was a bit sweet last year IMO. Regular Hopacalypse was great though.

    This.
Was a bit spicy/sweet for me. I got one of the last few bottles around 1:00 (3 hours after opening). I wasn't planning to fight the lines for it this year based on the taste and just pick up some green label later on.

Anyone seen regular green label out in shops/stores yet? Nada in North Bay yet...

Anyone know what time I should get there to receive bottles of black label? Right at 10 or should I be in line early around 9an? Are kids 8/yo welcome in case I can't get a sitter?

    Thanks

Hmmmm... would love to try the TIPA. As it turns out, our hotel is less than 3 miles from the barrel house and my flight doesn't leave Oakland until 1:05. Hmmmm....

From past experience, is there much of a line (and thus, a wait to get in) on the release day?

No kids at Drakes unless they are infants in a car seat or stroller.

Regular Hopocalypse (white label) is much better than Black label IMO. Black had a weird spicy/skunky hop aroma last year. Younger>>Black Label the last 3 years.

Think I'll be OK with my one year old in his stroller?

    Not last year's Younger...

FWIW both version of Hopocalypse have a green label. One is white and one is black. Everyone says green label and black label, but it's white label and black label.

From the barrel house website -
"Infants may be brought in if they remain in a stroller or baby bjorn. Otherwise, Drake’s Barrel House is a 21 & over establishment."

    Those looking to
The black label Hopocalypse will be long gone by then. You may be able to get white label bottles still. It should still be on draft as well.
