Driftless Brewing in Soldiers Grove WI is opening their taproom! This is exciting news as their beers are excellent, with great folks involved and community focused. This is from their Facebook page: "Experience the Driftless...starting tomorrow, May 24th, our Taproom will be open Fridays, 3-9 pm and Saturdays, 1-9 pm. We'll have 10 taps of our core beers as well as a rotating selection of seasonal and specialty beers, including on occasion, our barrel-aged beers. You can also purchase growers and growler-fills, glassware and shirts/hats. Six-packs of our core beers (Local Buzz Blonde Honey Ale, Dirt Brown Ale, Kick-Axe Pale Ale, Cow Cult Milk Stout, Saison de Jardin and Rolling Ground IPA) are for sale as available. This weekend, CASH/CHECK only as we're still installing our register and credit card system. Non-alcoholic beverages available as well. Join us for our taproom hours as we will not be open to the public otherwise---we are a production brewery. Look for our new website in coming days and always check back to our Facebook page for the latest updates on beers and events. Cheers!"

I'd never heard of this brewery until the shuttle back from DLD. Someone share a beer by them - it was the Gin Cask Aged Saison. Quite possibly the worst beer I've ever had, and I've had some Gin BA beers that I've enjoyed. I unfortunately wound up with one of these because a guy gave one to my buddy but he didn't want to take it back to CA. Now it's sitting on my kitchen counter as I contemplate throwing it away, which I'll probably do.

Hopefully their other beers aren't anywhere near as bad as that one.

This place is off the beaten path no matter where you're going.

Well, to each their own. I completely disagree with you and find the Driftless Gin Casked Aged Saison to be a unique and delicious brew. While I can understand it would not be for everyone's taste, it is almost like an aperitif, dry with deep botanical undertones and complexity. We did a tasting of it with a large group last New Years, and everyone liked it. Regardless, it is certainly one of Driftless's most unique brews, and not like any of the others, which are all well crafted for their styles. Cheers!
