Well my local breweries are COAST and Westbrook, so I do tend to drink local fairly often!

Solution to this problem. Drink the good local beers and ignore the rest. No one is going to hate you if you don't drink a beer you don't like.

So how about we think of drink local as drink at a local establishment, rather than a huge corporation!

    Shop local, drink local.

I live in a city that has 3 local breweries in a 2 mile radius and although i would "like" to support them i can't justify spending my money on crappy beer and better yet consuming crappy beer.

I am a huge fan of drinking local, but I consider upper midwest/great lakes region local to MN. I do have a fondness for the products of Colorado, Oregon and Belgium though...

I will buy local when I find a beer that I think is good enough to purchase. I will not buy local for the sake of only buying indigenous beers. I live in MN but I do love O'Dells, Founders, Sierra Nevada, ....

"All of my "local" breweries make terrible beer. Old Forge Brewing, Susquehanna Brewing, 3 Guys and a Beer'd, Barley Creek just to name a few."

You forgot Benny, Berwick, Marley's, Turkey Hill and Nimble. How 'bout them?

The only locals I drink are New Glarus, Ale Asylum, Central Waters, and Lakefront. I only do so when I'm feeling like it and not as a way to support the breweries. I think it is important to drink what you are in the mood to drink rather than forcing down something just to support a company. I drink good beer, which is not necessarily local.

I've seen this thread several times ove the last week and have been tempted to comment and now finally have the time.
Our largets local brewery makes some pretty good beer, nothing earth shattering, but good.

BUT, they only bottle in bombers. And at their price, it's llike paying close to $18 for a six pack of "pretty good" beer. Fuck no.

Not when I boycott Rogue for their $11 six packs, and not when I can get stellar beer like Torpedo, Ruination, Hopdevil and etc for considerably cheaper.

And what bugs me, is that a lot of locals encourage this shit. Comments on their FB page from locals saying things like "I went to a bar yesterday and asked them if thay had your beer and they said 'no', so I said 'then why am I here?' and I walked out!" The locals are so on their jock it's sickening.
