Drinking Beer While Gaming

I will admit, Gwent got me, for whatever damned reason.

The original ME trilogy is still an exceptional experience. Much like with Witcher, ME1 is much more raw and unrefined, but still enjoyable.

The ending of the trilogy may be divisive, but I think what @tzieser is referring to is the more recent standalone release (correct me if I'm wrong). I think we were all looking forward to another epic mind blowing space opera.

 

So true. If you like "serious" space sims I suggest Elite Dangerous. It's a pretty dry game but fun in the right setting. (I was going to name drop Star Citizen but I don't think they're worthy anymore). X-Wing/X-Wing Alliance or Tie Fighter are probably still my favorite space sims of all time

Also, it's not a space sim but check out the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo they released a month or so ago.....if you dig 80s cyberpunk aesthetic a la Blade Runner you'll like it. It's very ambitious, I really hope they pull it off.

Agreed. The story and lore is some of the best I've experienced in games. The whole prothean/collector/reaper thing still intrigues me to this day. I'll be that guy and say ME1 was my personal favorite just because of how innovative it was at the time (yes, nostalgia has tainted my view on the series lol)

You're totally right, I was referring to ME Andromeda. I mean, it wasn't as awful as some folks say but it really was just a mess of poorly designed characters and stories. They could've done so much more with it.....glad to hear (series creator) Casey Hudson is back in command hopefully he'll turn the ship around.

 

Used to get stoned AF and play Goldeneye and StarFox on N64. Good times. Now I get drunk and get killed easily on CoD.

Maybe I should install Serious Sam 2 and give it a try in single player mode, haven't played it in years. I forgot parts of the maze so it would be a challenge

I don't think I've played a video game since Space Invaders, when in was on college ('79 - '83).
They had it in some of the bars we hung out at... so I was certainly drinking beer while playing.

 

I am in my 60s and I am still a big kid. There is nothing much better than drinking my favorite beer and gaming. Currently working on the new Tomb Raider and Spiderman. Both are great. Really looking forward to Red Dead 2. I will be burning many hours and drinking many beers in front of that game.

 

So glad to have the Archives close by. Nothing better than old school games and delicious craft drafts.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me as my first answer but nothin' beats beer and Pinball! I was so jealous of the pinball bars in Chicago (and from what I hear, NY) since the scene here in Boston is pretty weak. But thankfully a brewery recently opened not too far from me with 10-12 shiny machines in tip top shape.

Given how much I wished for something like that to come along i don't actually go there nearly enough though.

 

I hazard the risk of stating...you may have missed out, just slightly, on a few gems over the years...

 

This. My son got a switch, and I picked up doom and had a few beers and it's not nearly as fun. I'd rather heckle the news.

I have been playing Divinity Original Sin 2 on PS4 very much in the veins of Baldur's Gate.
