Drinking Beer While Gaming

I'm with the guy who was talking about playing roguelikes or other more "inconsequential" games while I have some beers. I also do better at some more meaningful games when drinking, but don't like to do it because they're better with a sober mindset. Dark Souls et al come to mind.

 

Don't get much time to game but when I do, I love a good slow sipping stout and some Diablo 3. Last time it was a bottle of KBS.

 

So much this. I spent hours upon hours playing the original Black Ops sipping on some Finestkind and Fat Tire.

 

Never spilled any beer on my keyboard while gaming but there have been times where I spilled it next to my battery pack. It also spilled under the pc but luckily there's vents under there to prevent damage.

 

Yes...VERY disappointing...I really wanted to kill Matthew Mcconaughey...

 

I often unwind in the evening with a beer while gaming [PC]. I dabble in lots of Steam's sub-$20 games, with the occasional AAA game, like Doom (2016), The Division, Overwatch, but I keep coming back to Rocket League....original, absolutely balanced and pure skill. Rocket League does sports better than any video game based on an actual sport. The FIFA morons out there should try a soccer[-ish] game that requires real skill.

Rampage + pocket of quarters + craft beer = Heaven

Barcade is about 2 blocks from The Fillmore, and is a great pre-show hang-out spot.

 

Agree. I’m huge into RPGs but couldn’t get into Witcher 3....gave it about 15 hours and gave up.

Gameplay was clunky. Inventory management was a disaster. Story didn’t grab me, although the setting was neat.

Started to feel like a chore to play.

 

Does Minesweeper count? If so then yes....

 

I used to drink and play SKATE 3, now I drink and my 4 year old plays SKATE 3

 

check out Blackwake for high seas ship combat circa 1800. I think it's fun and has unique gameplay that any "geezer" can pick up to contribute to their ship's crew. $20 on Steam (or wait for sale) is a good price. And pirate players heal themselves by drinking rum, so it's got that going for it too!

 

Great thread OP! Most of my gaming these days comes after putting my 2 year old to bed, which necessitates a beer either way. Been playing FIFA since the mid-90’s on genesis (Sega channel anyone?) and was thinking of picking up 19 after skipping 18

Just picked up Horizon 4 after trading in Witcher 3 (played about 2 hours, way too involved and clunky for my taste). Looking forward to Battlefield V and drinking some Born Yesterday!

 

I always drink beer while playing pinball. Does that count?

Absolutely, I am a huge gamer and enjoying beer while gaming is a no brainer.

I play a lot of Destiny 2 with my clan, so having some beers while playing and chatting with them is just like if we'd be hanging out in person, even though we are hundreds of miles away. Great social experience.

And my girlfriend and I enjoy some brews while we are playing couch co-op/multiplayer games like Super Mario World on the SNES Classic. Let me tell you, those jumping sections get quite tricky a few beers in!

 

Earthbound while hammered or stoned should be a trip.....

 

I used to get hammer tanked and would play Tecmo Super Bowl with friends. We fought too much though.
