Not trying be a troll or anything, but the attitudes of many imply that drinking macro lagers are for losers. Im embarrassed to drink BMC's or any lagers with adjuncts cause of the stigma. I agree some craft beers sometimes taste better depending on things such as the weather, food pairings or my mood. Its just that the stigma of drinking a macro lager is unnecessary.

I agree and do occasionally feel like drinking macro lager. I know it isn't as flavorful and isn't normally what I'm looking for but I see nothing wrong with pounding a few while hanging out with friends.

The way I see it, do what you like and do you. There's always going to be some kind of negative stigma to anything. I love craft beer, but I'm not a snob about it. I drink what I like. If the next person is going to make fun of me at a party for drinking a Coors Light and they're moaning and groaning about I would rather have a craft brew. That's all on them. At least I'm not thirsty. Cheers.

Nobody has ever drank craft beer just to be cool, though some have on occasion drank craft beer because it tastes better than came to the conclusion that it made them cool.

Macro lagers aren't for losers, just for people who value quantity over quality in their beer consumption habits. And I've met some losers with great taste in beer.

I was cool, but now I stay home because I only like the beer I buy, craft beer has made me uncool.

AAL's are exactly what they say they are. Light beer with the flavor of the adjunct.

No one on here is drinking craft beer just to be cool. What would even be the point of that? They drink craft beer because of the flavor. Many people on here still drink BMC beers on occasion, but many prefer to sit down with a beer that punches with flavor. Neither are wrong!

Also, from what I can recall, Bud has been the one launching all the attack ads against craft beer recently...

Being a loser or cool has nothing to do with what type of beer you drink ..... although at the same time despite many people's attempts over the years I think it is highly unlikely that the act of drinking beer can make you cool

Being cool is about the person, not the beer.
Worrying about what someone thinks because of your beer choice is not cool.

I see those people all of the time and it really irks me but it happens with everything. I drink what I want (whether it be an expensive bottle of craft beer or a can of bud-light) and you should too. Every beer style has it's place and time, including macro AAL's.

Anyone that implies that macro lager drinkers are losers are not BAs but rather beer snobs. BAs generally encourage people to expand their options, not take a superior attitude that that they use to look down on people that drink what they think is a beer that is beneath them.

I rarely drink macro lagers. Usually when I do its because I'm traveling abroad and there are no better options available. Having said that I have had many good times, a long time ago, drinking Budweiser.

I have to say, in my entire life, I have never been embarrassed by the beer I was drinking. And if someone suggested I should be, when I was done laughing at them, I would suggest they need to adjust their priorities.

Seriously, drink what you like. And have the backbone to stand up to people who want to tell you what you "should" do.

Being 53 years old I drank a megaton of macro in my day and since I have really gotten into craft I rarely go out to drink because I have a better selection(for me) at home. Craft beer for me has never been about cool, but for taste. The only cool part is places like this that you can connect with people that like the same beer as you, now that's cool.

Personally, I think it's the opposite in this community. I've seen an embrace of BMC/AALs.....It seems like that's the new cool thing. For me, there is no time I would ever prefer to drink macro. With the breadth of styles and flavors churned out by craft brewers everyday, there is a brew for any occasion. From hot summer days to cold winter nights, there are countless craft brews I would prefer to drink..I owe it to my taste buds. I dont hate anyone for what they drink but I just can't force down AALs and I don't see why anyone on BA would ever want to.

I don't think you're a loser if you regularly drink macro lagers. You do you. I might think your taste in beer is poor, but again, you do you.

When I first started drinking craft I'll admit part of it was I didn't want to be one of the people drinking the fizzy yellow stuff and craft seemed cooler. That's long behind me though, and I regret nothing. I've wasted very little time and money over the years drinking sub-par beer as a result. I still occasionally have one here and there, but since pretty much all my friends are into craft its few and far between.

I personally don't drink Macro anymore but its a choice not a stigma. I just don't like drinking swill after discovering real beer. But to each his own. Many nights I will be out to dinner with the wife, her sipping on a Corona and me downing Lagunitas or Stone right beside her. Not a problem.
