Drinking every day vs. not

I have a can, bottle, bomber or growler a night. Gotta keep my Uptappd numbers up. LOL

 

To be fair though, I'm pretty sure most of that beer was in the 2%-5% range, not the "imperial double high octane india pale extra special super stouts" that BA's drink today. Even the average beer that people around here drink is at least twice as strong as what was drank at every meal back in the day. So health-wise, it's not as safe a habit as it used to be. If I drank any of my favorite beers with every meal in place of water, I'd be bloated, decaying, or dead.

I'm trying to cut back, personally. Haven't been going overboard or anything. I've been averaging about 2 beers a day, which I don't really see as an issue. Guess I just want to know that I can.

 

I drink just about every day, but usually only one as a pre-sleep ritual. It's a nice way to wind-down the night, generally devoid of distractions so I can really enjoy it, and it helps rein in my insomnia.

Why stress about keeping up? You'll never try every single great beer on the planet. If you truly enjoy what you're drinking, you're doing it right, be it your first of the week or fifth of the night.

 

I have a couple every night after work. Usually nothing higher than 6% ABV. Oktoberfests and light saisons right now among other things.

 

I know I honk the homebrew horn in almost all of my posts... but I brew lower abv beers (4.5-5.5) as "daily drinkers", which I feel ok coming home and having 1 or 2 of after work. I then splurge every so often and have something commercial either a) in lieu of my daily homebrews, or b) as a day-off treat in addition to homebrews.

 

I keep it to only a few days a week. Once in a while I will have a few on Thursday. Mostly Friday,and Saturday. I know so many people (working in beer sales) that buy a 6pk or 12pk a day. I don't know how their liver,health,or weight is anywhere normal...it's not. Certainly having a beer or 2 nightly isn't a bad thing, I just choose not to. A lot of my friends party ( drink more than 6 beers a night ). I liked doing that when I was 22 years old. Now hangovers last for days,I'll keep it for the weekend when I have days off haha.

 

If i drnk durng theweek is usually a light one. I drink a lot more during football season lol! and more durng the week, thank you monday/thrusday night games

my new schedule allows it ho, i start at 8:30. when i started at 7in a different departmen i rarely drank on a worknight

 

i'll drink anywhere from 1-3 beers everyday during the week. if it's anymore than that, it's when i'm drinking something very light, like last night's adventure with pbr. weekends - it depends on what's going on.

i also work at a growler fill station and will sample some new additions to the store. after all, it's my job to be able to describe the beer and make recommendations, so i have to know it. i really love being able to expand my palette.

I work night shift, which seems to make me less inclined to drink during the week. I typically drink Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Mostly Friday and Saturday, but football season is upon us, so Sunday will be more common for the next several months.

 

4-5 during the week. Probably the most I drink since I don't really drink on the weekends.

 

I'm seven deep, and it's a Tuesday.

 

Why are "stressful job" and "bad boss" excuses for drinking? Cant you just like to drink beer? We aren't your wife.
I have a "stressful" life just like every other adult, but had my Lagunitas Imperial Stout and 3 Breakfast Stouts. I'm feeling good at 1am, but luckily, tomorrow is a "nothing" day. Cheers

 

I feel like if I drank every day I would end up an alcoholic, especially since most of the beer I drink is high abv, quite usually 8 - 10%. I always take one or two days off a week.

 

If you can drink everyday then why not? I mean there are plenty of days where I can drink but choose not to. I would only be concerned if you shouldn't be drinking and you have to.

 

i used to drink daily. at one point, i drank no less than a sixer a day(depending on abv). these days, my consumption is no where near daily. it declined gradually over the past 6 months or so when i started a new job. I have noticed positive affects resulting from lowering my consumption. i will continue to moderate my beer drinking, and still love beer and respect brewing as an art

 

Previously I would drink one 'bottle' per night, be it a bomber or 12oz. I went to Denver last weekend and drank about 4 gallons of beer in 3 days between all the breweries I visited, plus GABF, and decided my kidneys and liver needed a respite. Didn't drink at all last week and I felt, and slept, damn fine. Going to stick with minimal drinking during the week now.

Shit, I just kegged and tapped my 30.5% imperial coconut bourbon barrel coffee stout. Maybe next week.

 

Budget restrains greatly my ability to drink lol
