Drinking temperatures of stouts

    Def varies. Thinner beers tend to be better cold as it hides that part a bit. With variants, a bit warmer tends to bring out more flavor.

    I pull my stout out the fridge when I start cooking dinner- it's perfect by the time I'm done cooking. Perfect to me anyhow.

    I have a Fluke professional grade IR gun I got cheap for a household issue I was investigating. Now I'll make it part of my beer tasting toolkit! Non-professional ones can be had pretty cheap at Sears, and would be just fine for beer. I see they have one on sale now for $25 - excellent present for any craft beer fan. Obviously be careful not to shine/reflect in any eyes. And make sure your cat doesn't chase it into your beer!
