I saw the Thread title, and could only think "Drinking the closet down!!!" I have boatloads of Batch 9000, 2010 Night Stalker, and various Stone RIS's to dig into. I promise myself every winter to pare this stash down, but it's been a "Struggle." Cheers!

We're planning on moving in a year so I have to drink down my 150 bottle cellar otherwise my wife will kill me come moving time. However between my local beer stop and the trading boards, its been hard to stop myself from accumulating more beer...

Last winter into spring. For no particular reason, I took an extended break from drinking and some the beers that do not benefit from time aged. So, I am now drinking them down to keep a more sane beer fridge and cellar.

Almost ashamed to admit it but I've been working on it for oh say....5 years. The struggle is real.

(it's probably only half full now, maybe 100-125 beers). It's gonna be another couple years.

I need to get rid of some of them, I have probably 30 or 40 different versions and vintages of the pannepot series. Yikes. I'm....not even the biggest fan of that beer.

If you'd like me to help you get the cellar down, ship me some of those Cycles and I will ship you some nice crisp IPA's:wink:

The only time I have a huge hoard of beer is during Celebration season. My goal is usually to keep a supply through March. It never works that way though. It's usually gone by end of January.

Cleaned out most of the beer fridge before my VT trip......got 65 back home from trip but fortunately (love drinking great brews) and unfortunately (almost gone), they are about to disappear.

I don't have a full size fridge but i have 2 mini-fridges I stock and then "fridge down". Each can fit no more than 26 12oz bottles and at least 17 12oz cans. Most of my fridge is bottles so I can usually buy cans no problem, i do try to avoid bottle overstock.

I visit my local store at least twice a week, just to keep up on the new stuff and/or re-load. I certainly have a buying problem.

Yeah. I've been successfully working not just the fridge down but my bomber stash too. I'm looking forward to drinking some of the more expensive stuff I've been keeping.

What is this beer stash you speak of?
How does one buy beer and not drink it quickly enough to deplete such a "stash"?

I have never been so confused in my life.

It's when I buy way faster, and more than I can drink. As of last night, it's 186 bottles and 7 growlers.

I know, just kidding. I would stash beer too if I had the money. Most importantly, would cellar if I lived in an actual house and not an apartment, but alas I am in graduate school and cannot afford it. Some day though.

That's quite the collection though man, props for that.

I just found out, a bit ago, that it's going to grow by 3 cases of Yuengling. 1 Summer Wheat, 1 Oktoberfest, and 1 regular.

some of it is going to make it to a friend who developed a taste for it while in Iraq.

I do not buy hoppy beers to cellar, drink instantly. I do spend way to much on on Stouts, Barleywines and sours to cellar. I have no intention of ever being without the aforementioned beverages. So, I do not drink down the fridge.

my girlfriend just found my cellar and is going to help me drink it down a bit before she moves in. She asked how much I spend on beer then said "I don't want to know or care you keep good beer." For the record I have been living along for 4 months so beer money has been slim can't wait for her to move in so I can reload on favorites.
