I rarely drink the same beer day after day. There are too many options. Variety is a spice of life. However, I do have favorites and Go-To beers...

When Sierra Nevada Celebration comes out I'll usually just drink that for 2-3 weeks, but that is as long as I tend to go. I love variety too much and get burnt out on a beer if I drink too much of it; however, Lagunitas comes to Louisiana in October and I will probably drink nothing but Lagunitas beers for the entire month.

I always seem to end up in this "zone" about 5 weeks after I homebrew...

Right now, I am in an IPA zone. I won't drink anything else. It pisses me off! I have 3 Floyds in my fridge - Robert the Bruce - and I am reaching for an IPA. Every time!

Fat Head's Head Hunter has been a go to IPA ever since I've moved to Ohio last year so thats always in the fridge, but there's always plenty of other options regularly in my fave stores...

I live in a town of 1200. So Sam Adams Rebel IPA is the only IPA in a 20 mile radius. So I just end up buying that if I need beer when I run out beer that I have bought other places. Otherwise when I'm out in a decent city that has decent beer I try to buy something different every time.

This will happen to me someday. And when that day comes, it's going to be either Summit Saga, Lucid Foto, or Lake Monster Empty Rowboat - unless it's fall/winter, in which case it will absolutely no-questions-asked be Bell's Kalamazoo Stout.

I can sympathize with your situation, as the town I live in is a teensy bit smaller than yours - but I'm sure we've got 2 or 3 to choose from.... regardless - I work in a pretty big town 30 minutes away - at a wholesaler no less... so things are ok. I'm just glad to see another small-towner here in this community. How often do you get to a bigger town? How big is that town? What's the selection like there? Can you get TG? If so, can you send me some? :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue:

I drink mostly IPAs but I like variety. I rarely ever buy more than a 6 pack of the same beer at a time. I'll get on a kick for a while of a specific beer but it won't take long for me to pick up some of the old faithfuls like Odell IPA and FW Union Jack .

There are a few towns about 20-30 min away that have decent selections. Founders, Bells, etc. Gotta really watch the bottle dates though.

About twice a month I get to Des Moines or Iowa City. Both have really good places for beer. Anything I want basically with a little luck.

As for TG. Nope. Never seen it on a shelf. Almost got a bottle of Dorothy but the clerk gave it to the guy standing next to me after he asked if they had any TG. A new restaurant in Iowa City just opened that has Psuedo Sue on tap though. So hopefully I can get there some time soon.

I only drink the same beer multiple days in a row when I fill a growler. Otherwise I crave variety in my beer.

Pseudo sue is the beer I usually crave so it is what I drink most. That also has something to do with living in Iowa.

I'll sometimes get to the end of a sixer of something and think "this is my beer!" intending to drink, not exclusively but mostly, this beer for quite some time. I rush out and buy a case or so, but usually a few beers into the stash it suddenly seems much less appealing. Yet, I am currently thinking a large supply of a certain German lager is needed ....

It's hard enough for me to drink the same beer twice in a row.
