Gotta make the trip Wednesday for work. Other than the obvious stop at Russian River and ending the long drive at Lost Coast, is there anything else worth checking out right off the highway? Not looking to deviate too far off course as it will be a long enough day.
Not in between, but definitely check out Redwood Curtain in Arcata...especially if you like barleywines. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22065/
Second on Redwood Curtain. Bit further north from Lost Coast though. I think Ukiah Brewing is a good pit stop for food and beer. Then you have Mendocino Brewing also in the area. I am sure by then you have already loaded up at Russian River. There really is not enough hours in the day sometimes.
BeerCraft is a taproom in Rohnert Park and is right off the 101 on the way from SF to Russian River. You can sample some good local stuff there.
The Local is a pretty solid taproom in downtown Eureka maybe 3 blocks from Lost Coast. Definitely worth checking out if you don't have time to go brewery hopping while you're in Eureka; they tend to have a good local selection plus a fridge of bottles to go. And I'd definitely third the Redwood Curtain suggestion if you have the time or inclination to hit up another brewery.
