I will be driving from cleveland to Chicago in a couple weeks. I am planning a stop at three floyds and pipeworks. Any other must stops along the way or in Chicago?

    Thanks

You can't stop at Pipeworks, it's a production only facility. No taproom, no tours, etc...

Should be easy to find their beer in liquor stores though. Binny's is always a good option.

I would also consider stopping at 18th Street in Gary, IN, Revolution Taproom or Brewpub in Chicago, and Half Acre. Lagunita's has a nice brewpub in Chicago now as well.

Pipeworks isn't open to the public, but their beers are available far and wide in Chicagoland (use beermenus.com if you're looking for specific items).

I'd suggest stopping at 18th Street in Gary, IN prior to hitting Three Floyd's. Beyond that, there is a bevy of great spots in Chicago, too many to list, but a quick search through the forums should return a handful of threads with recommendations, since there seems to be a post about visiting Chicago on an almost weekly basis.

I've made that trip a few times and I've always had luck with City Wide Liquors in Mishawaka. They almost always have a better selection of FFF bombers that the brewpub itself. Chalet Party Shoppe in Elkhart also had a great selection. Neither one of those places are right off I-80, but they are good places to stop for lunch or dinner to break up the trip.

Glad I asked, wasn't aware pipeworks was prod. only.

    Thanks
