I'm heading to Auburn this weekend for a wedding and will swing by Knee Deep Brewing Co. while there. Are there any amazing breweries, craft beer bars, or bottle shops anyone can recommend between San Jose and Auburn? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Auburn Alehouse is pretty solid for food and beer. If you like saturated fat and carbs the cheese loaf is amazing. Auburn isn't too far from the Rocklin/Roseville area so if you have time you could also hit up Final Gravity and/or Boneshakers. As far as bottles, I don't think you'll find something in Sac/Auburn that you can't find in the Bay. There's a BevMo in Auburn that might have some residual stock of hard to find beers though.

If you're just taking I-80 the whole way, there's a shop in Davis (Davis Beer Shoppe?) that is supposed to be quite good. Otherwise, definitely Final Gravity. If you go to Boneshaker, there's the pub and also Boneshaker Community Brewery. The pub has better beer, but the food is meh; the community brewery has awesome food and meh beer. Auburn Alehouse when you're in Auburn is the way to go.

(If for some reason you take I-580, Altamont is worth a stop.)

In addition to Davis Beer Shoppe another option close to I-80 would be Heretic in Fairfield.

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately the weekend was crazy, so we were unable to hit any of your recommendations. With that said, I'll be heading to Tahoe soon and will mark these places for the drive!!
