There's a beer store in Dewey/Rehobeth are that sells Prarie Artisan bottles. Right on the main drag, forget the name however.

No beer at markets, gas stations etc. Just liquor stores. I can't say much for the beach area except to visit the DFH brew pub in Rehoboth. Food is good and you will get brew pub release only beers. You can also stop by the brewery in Milton and see what they are selling. As said in the thread stop by Mispillion River Brewing in Milford. They are doing some good thing and it is maybe a 5-7 minute detour off of Rt. 1.

Nothing worth stopping for in Dover. The Liquor Depot on 8 is the best shop in town, but nothing you can't find in PA except New Belgium and an odd bottle of Prairie. You might as well hit a Total Wine in the northern part of the state and save on sales tax before you cross over.

Cue the people who point out in PA it is a crime to posses beer that hasn't been taxed by PA.

I mean six packs aren't taxed. But due to it not being state regulated, there is inflation. But I'm going hogwild. I think ill bring a bag.

Do people really get checked? I have only lived in DE for six months and am clueless to it. I lived in western Germany before Dover. My German neighbors would drive to Luxembourg country once a month for smokes and coffee as they taxed it at a lower rate than Germany. They would also gas up as it was cheaper also.

    Stop by State Line Liquors!

That place alone is worth the trip.

You might already know about it and been there, but if not; then do yourself a favor and hit it up, you won't regret it.

p.s. Mispillion is a nice little hole in the wall that brews some decent stuff. Not sure what bottles they have, but all of them are limited to 100 each and they do some interesting things with them. However, the $20 is a bit steep.

No need, you already pointed it out.

You'd be surprised how many folks from PA manage to get themselves busted every year without realizing that. Some even put their stuff on a credit or debit card.

Depends a lot on the state and local laws, but as for PA, folks sometimes can and do get checked. Although the State Police charged with enforcing PA laws are mostly looking to catch folks whose intent is to re-sell stuff that costs less out of state. So basically I can go to DE and buy some beer and if I drink it there that's just fine, but as soon as I bring it back with me into PA.... Here's a bit of a description that, so far as I can tell, gets it mostly right:

    http://watchdog.org/168102/beer-liquor-pennsylvania/

A recent news item in the paper mentioned PA State Police had issued about 12,000 citations last year.

But as I said lots of variability in state laws from state to state. And strange quirks as well. For example suppose I go to a retail distributor and buy a case of beer for me and my friend. If I collect his half in advance that seems to be just fine. But if I buy the case myself and then he pays me for his half, that seems technically to be a violation of a state law against selling alcohol without a license. What I find fascinating is that while lots of folks inside and outside of PA knock the state for its "archaic" laws, lots of other states have some pretty convoluted laws about alcohol in place as well.

Yep, as mentioned in post 13 above, about 12,000 citations last year alone.
