I made an IPA and kegged it and it was..just ok.
After about a month i really am not liking it much and still have about 1/2 a keg left.
Can I dry hop it now to add something more to it ?

ok. so I can open up the keg, throw in a stainless steel teaball full of hops and then re-carb?

I'd suggest something bigger than a tea all to give the hops a bit more room (more exposed surface area), but yes, that's how it's done. You shouldn't need to recarb, since the beer won't go flat in the time the lid is off. You will need to purge the headspace, though.

If you're using pellets, the hop hit you'll get 20 minutes or so after dropping them in is one of the many perks of kegging.

I use a nilon paint strainer weighted with stainless steelies for dry hopping. If you are using whole hops it takes more weight then you might think to sink them.

Make sure to have the keg fairly cold when you do this. It's amazing how much it'll foam up if it's not.

I have one keg where I took the out dip tube and made it shorter. I just throw in whole pellets. Oh, I did put the tube back in.

You can.... if you're quick! It will foam up like you just threw a hand grenade in there. It's easy to lose a lot of beer this way if your keg is close to full. (How do I know this? Never mind.) But with a half full keg you could probably manage to close the lid before the foam reaches the top.

Yikes, don't you bleed off the pressure slowly first? You can buy or build a bleeder easy.

I did this last night actually. Had a little over half a keg left of a DIPA I did with a ton of Simcoe and Chinook.

It's drinking good, but the aroma got a bit weak, and a little grassy from the 3oz of Simcoe leaf that I left in there for 3 weeks. Tasted great though, but decided to jack with it.

Added 2 oz of Comet leaf to it, since I hadn't used them before. Tossed them in a hop bag, pushed it around and dunked it gently in the keg to wet the leaf out, and then hung it from the PRV on the lid with a SS hose clamp from the string on the bag.

Worked like a charm and little to no foaming at all.

It's not the pressure. It's the carbonation plus all the nucleation sites on the hops.
