I just brewed a rye pale ale using:

    75% 2 row
    12% rye malt
    8% munich
    8% white wheat

    .25 oz columbus 40 min
    .50 oz citra 10 min
    .50 oz Nelson sauvin flameout
    1.25 oz citra flameout

    35 IBU's

    I dry hopped:
    2.5 oz citra
    1.5 oz Nelson sauvin
    .50 oz simcoe

4.5 oz total dry hop. Is that too much?

The aroma is bursting with citrus Starburst smells.

Is this for 5 gallons? No, 4.5 oz is not too much. It's probably above style for a pale, but you went pretty light on the late boil hop additions. Sounds tasty.

4.5 oz is a lot of dry hops, but not too excessive. You may lose a half gallon or more of beer due to how much the hops will absorb. I personally think it sounds ridiculously good! I've been brewing up a Citra and Nelson pale ale lately that tastes and smells A LOT like Pinner from Oskar Blues...one of the best tasting and smelling beers I've ever brewed!

I'm in the Upstate near Clemson and Greenville, if you need an official taster and are nearby, hit me up:grinning::rolling_eyes::grinning:
