So I racked my APA over to the secondary last weekend, and added an ounce of citra pellets. The pellets broke down, and left a scum of hops on top of the beer for a few days. Yesterday I checked how things are going and the scum had crashed, but I noticed some action in the airlock and some bubbles on top of the beer. Is it pretty typical that when the hops settle out it releases pent up CO2? Just curious.

    Yeah, you're fine.

Yeah, the hop material will provide nucleation points for CO2 so some of the gas will leave the beer. Nothing to worry about. Enjoy! I love Citra...

I figured this is what was going on, but I figured I would ask anyway. I could see the yeast and hops rising with bubbles attatched, but I just wanted to verify. I can't wait to get this batch bottled. I had a taste when I racked it and it tasted mighty fine.
