I am going to be in Atlanta next weekend and am hoping to stop by a good bottle shop somewhere between downtown and the airport. Anyone have any recommendations?

Where downtown are you going? It's kinda spread out.. Buckhead, to Midtown, to Downtown, and then you have the perimeter that people still considering Atlanta, but it aint near the city!

Airport is south of the city.. so in thinking of something close to the airport, you could try the World of Beverage on Camp Creek Parkway.. It's off the interstate a bit, and while it's not very huge on beer, they have an okay selection of local stuff, and usually have some hidden gems from time to time. Check the dates on IPAs, and buy all the stouts you can because I've regularly bought 2 year old Espresso Yeti's there in the past that were awesomely good.

They do get tons of the local stuff, and it's usually pretty fresh though. Redbrick and Terrapin are all over the store.

The main reason for being in Atlanta is to take my daughter to the Aquarium. Also going to a Braves game and Coca-Cola.

We're staying at the Marriott Marquis.

I always like Hop City (midtown ATL location) when I visit. Great bottle selection, nice selection of growlers to go (list posted on their website) and if Kraig is working one of the nicest, customer service oriented bottle shop guys I've ever encountered. Hope its close enough to you.

I agree Hop City is probably the closest to where you'll be. They have a nice sized parking lot behind the building too.

Well, if you'll be in that area, then HopCity on Marietta St is a place to stop. Go in next door to the 5 Seasons for dinner. Good food, and good beers. You'll be right there if staying at the Marriott.

I'd say to drive over to Greens on Ponce and gander whatever they have in, usually have better pricing than HopCity..

I agree, Green's will have more for less. It's not that far out of the way either.

I appreciate it. I'll try and check out both. I'm assuming GA doesn't have an issue with a 4 year old in a beer store, right?

No. No problem unless they try to buy without an ID!

All -- I appreciate it. Stopped in at Hop City and Greens. Made purchases at both. Very impressive selections. Really wish we could get more of it into Texas. Maybe one day.

    Thanks again.

I'll be in town for 3 days this week and plan to stop at both Hop City and Greens. Looks like army01 had good results, I'm sure I will too!

Anyone know of other stores I should visit while I'm there? I'm willing to drive a little bit, but will be mostly around Underwood Hills, Buckhead, and briefly south of the airport...

Thanks for your posts earlier by the way. I was about to make this same thread and found this waiting for me!

Ale Yeah! In Decatur is a good, albeit small, bottle shop. You can also get growlers and artisanal meats and cheeses.

Thumbs up to Green's btw. Great selection. Got Ten Fidy, about Terrapin Hop Karma, Terrapin French Oak Aged Monk's Revenge, Terrapin Dr. Krunkles, Tart of Darkness, White Oak, Noble Rot, Lips of Faith Le Terroir and La Folie 2013, Hipster Fresh Hop Harvest Ale, and a couple others. And I had to pass up so many others!
