To anyone who has not had this yet and thinks the price per bottle is steep, I think it's worth to get at least one. It's a fantastic beer.

 

Yep, had my single about a month ago and it was really good. Not in the top tier of BA beers but one notch down for sure.

 

For what it's worth, I think the typical "top tier" bourbon barrel aged beers are way too heavy on the bourbon. I thought the Duck Rabbit 10th was perfect.

 

Really good beer but a bit thin in body and depth. Interesting mixture though and obviously worth a single at $5 or $6. Probably worth a sixer to age a couple if you can find it now and under $30.

 

Wow, I do disagree here. I thought it was one of the most complex BA beers I've had and I liked that it wasn't just a one note bourbon bomb. Bought every bottle I could get my hands on, and still am. If you look at the equivalent bomber price it's a completely reasonable price point.

 

Grab one if it's still around. A solid, complex brew and worth the $5 for a single. I grabbed another a few weeks ago and plan on aging it a tad longer. Duck-Rabbit doesn't disappoint.

 

I think I'll grab 2 if they're still on the shelf tomorrow, for $10 worth it I think.

 

Yep. I paid $26 a sixer, or $4.50 a bottle. That's an $8.25 bomber price; if these were out there at $8.99 a bomber people would be calling it the best value of the year.

its a really good beer. i did have one that was infected though, but the store i got it from replaced it. it reminds me of olde rabbits foot.

Infections in this beer? Man I though DR had gotten over this infected seasonal thing.

 

I wonder if it's an actual infection, or someone reacting to the red wine notes in this beer. I know it's a blend of barrels, and one of those is red wine. to me this blending creates a depth of flavor that really makes the beer, but if someone is expecting pure bourbon and/or heat those notes could be seen as off.
