I paid $20 for Bourbon County Cherry Rye. I can't imagine any of these come anywhere close to that.

Do what you have to do, but needless to say, swallowing this kind of BS from PP just encourages them to keep doing it.

Couldn't agree more. On a serious note, I have no intention of paying that much for DuClaw or CR. Plenty of other palces carry DuClaw at better prices, and I won't pay $50 for CR. I'm not that crazy.

I can't say who, what, where, but I was able to score a bottle of the Cherry Rye for $14 in DC. Good beer karma with beer managers...nuff said.

I would love to try these Retribution variations, but as many said here, a bit overboard on the price point IMHO. Think I will wait for someone like Max's to have these on tap and just go with a sample size.

An excellent idea. I was able to try DR and Cocoa Retribution on tap at Max's. Even sample sizes of the beer were fairly expensive, but it beats the hell out of buying a couple bottles and discovering that you hate it.

I spoke to Rob over at Old Line Wines in Beltsville on Wednesday. They said there were 30 cases of each of the Cocoa and Cocoa Vanilla, and it was all sold to Bonds Distributors who I believe operate primarily out of Baltimore, but I'm not sure of the range for their deliveries.

Old Line have both the Retribution and Divine Retribution. Retribution was $13.99, Divine was $23.99. First time in the place. Nice set up. I live in VA but work in MD, usually I drive over to Fenwick in Silver Spring on my lunch for beers, this place is only 5 minutes away from me. So that works out well.

They where both $26 a bottle at College Liquors.

Sorry to be bumping a dated topic but I found this to be valid for a discussion I was going to start.

Today our local place got Pumpkin Retribution. Retribution is probably my favorite beer by Duclaw and i was in shock but didnt raise a stink when I heard about the pricing of the other beers mentioned in this thread. I realize vanilla beans can be quite expensive so I didnt gripe when I saw the price increase for vanilla and cocoa vanilla retribution.

I dropped the coin on a bottle thinking...eh using pumpkins in the brewing process sucks and there is a lot of beer wasted in the process if its added to the fermenter and maybe that was why the price is the way it is. I sit here holding the bottle and on the side label it states that pumpkin spices were added to the barrels that retribution was aging in. Retribution typically costs around $12 a bottle but up it to $22 by simply adding pumpkin pie spices to the beer? Please someone tell me this isnt accurate information...

I see all of these around, but I can't pull the trigger. I've had Colossus and a Chai Tea Retribution, both of which were phenomenal and on tap at the MD Craft Beer Festival back in May. Other than that, I'm not a big fan of their brews.

So, is there a difference between the Divine Retribution batches? I would still like to try the Pumpkin one.

That is an improvement over the $29.99 I saw them for a few months ago.

Edit: Old thread (sorry), but still they went UP $5 from that original post at Shawan's.

It was cool to try them, but I wouldn't pay over $14.99 for them again.
