There might be something in regards to an ABV limit for single serving size, that's a possibility as I knew it was in DC. So perhaps that is why it was pulled.

I did ironically buy a 12 oz. bottle of this today at State Line, since that's probably a good size for me to give it a good fair shake without breaking my wallet.

I haven't been that impressed with many DuClaw beers personally, so a simple 12 oz. format is good enough for me to give it a fair shake.

and oh if you want some head to State Line of course, there were a few bottles still on the shelf when I was there.

    LOVE that store.

Saw it today at Perfect Pour for $7.99 per 12oz.

That might be my favorite store of all time. The whiskey and beer selection is miles ahead of any Total Wine I've been to.

Sounds like prices for this beer are all over the map. Between $5.99 and $10 for a 12 ounce bottle... that's quite a range.

The $6 price tag actually represents a pretty big price drop, as opposed to the price for bombers back in 2011. In Baltimore, as I recall, bomber prices ranged from $23 to $28. Granted, the current abv. is substantially lower than the same beer released by Du Claw back in 2011, but even so, that's really not a bad price for the beer (assuming you like Colossus).

Also, I really think releasing this in 12 ounce bottle format was a very good idea. At over 20% abv., I would have needed a gang of friends to polish off a bomber of collosus. The times I had it on draft, I think it was sold in a 6 or 8 ounce snifter, and one glass was always the most I could handle.

    I paid $26 for a bomber of the 2011 at Rick's. RIP Rick's, you're still missed.

PA prices are always on the high side. The two I quoted ($9.95, $10) are at places that are among the lowest priced in the area, save for chain grocery stores. My guess is that the OP's experience with them being pulled was because someone goofed & stuck a $3.50 pricetag on a $10 beer.
