Found this when I was up in MD over the weekend. Seems to be new and 12oz singles were only $3 so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm not sure how widely Duclaw is distributed, so I figured I'd post about it here instead of in the main Beer Releases forum. It's a 50/50 blend of their Retribution BBA stout and Devil's Milk barleywine. It was very fresh with a bottled on date of 12/8/14. Tasted like a lighter version of Retribution up front, bourbon and vanilla notes were present, but much softer than a typical BBA stout. Then a pretty intense alcohol burn on the finish, couldn't pick up too much under that. It was an interesting concept, so I'm glad I tried one, but I definitely won't be ordering it on tap anywhere. I'd rather pay the extra money and stick with Retribution. If I find another single I might pick one up to sit on for a year and see if it mellows out. Anyone else tried it?

    For $3? I'd buy that.

Yeah, the price is mostly what drew me in. Half the price of Retribution, but half the flavor. I didn't feel as though the barleywine really added much to the beer.

I tired it places by me were selling it for $7-8 per 12oz bottle. I actually liked it better then Retribution...I was expecting this to be terrible (like their divine retributions), but was very surprised.

I found this at Crown before work the other day and picked up a single. Drank it the night after. This was one of the strangest beer experiences I've ever had. I was a bit dehydrated and decided to drink anyway so this may contribute to the end result.

I was highly encourage after the pour and by the aroma. The sip starts well but then it all seemed to go downhill. For me there was a sweet and undesirable coating on my tongue after I swallowed (you're welcome for setting you up). The beer also had an unpleasant bitter finish. I ended up drainpouring it but didn't think it was a horrible beer. First time I drain poured a beer I didn't hate.

I wish it tasted like the aroma. Hope you guys enjoy yours.

If you're near Germantown, I got mine at Beers and Cheers for $3. They had about a case worth of singles out.

I found this beer to be very good. It resembles BCBS IMO. The carbonation is a little off, but it's good none the less.

Canton Crossing still has a few bottles.

I have to agree with @DCgolfpro on this one. I must say that I'm surprised @duceswild liked this. I went in thinking I was going to like it, but did not. Also, I wouldn't liken this to BCBS at all, like @themind did.

Mine tasted like what I thought Hell on Wood was going to taste like last year. Can't wait for that to come out again. I will be buying a whole six-pack this time. Now that is some cheap BCBW right there.

Try Dugan's in Pikesville. They might have some left. I got mine on the way out of Maryland at State Line Liquors. They had cases of the stuff. $2.59 per.

Paid $4 a bottle near me. I thought it was pretty awesome and I wanna grab more while I can. I like the single 12oz bottles release thing they're doing

I cannot wait until Hell on Wood comes back. OT but I like Weyerbacher's Insanity more than BCBW. I'm curious to try the Devil's Due. I like Retribution and I like Devil's Milk so I'm assuming I may enjoy this one. I'll check Canton out this weekend.

Thanks. I'm actually pretty close to Dugan's so I may stop by during lunch today.

Finally opened up my bottle last night, and I have to admit that I am really pleased with Devil's Due! Kinda reminds me of BCBBW, but less smooth (more carbonated), and less fruity/ rich/ chocolatey. Like a poor-man's BCBBW, but at 1/3rd the price (i paid $2.50).

Considering the availability of my favorite beers, I'll take this as a daily drinker!

I had it a few weeks ago. Really solid beer. Gets much better as it warms

I had a bottle of this yesterday for the Superbowk and I thought it was excellent! Complex and deep in flavor and really, really enjoyable! I'm certainly going to get a few more bottles of this for my cellar and am looking forward to seeing how it ages.

    For 2.50 a pop, it's underrated.

Just enjoyed a Hell on Wood (for the price, I think it's damn good) and would like to track down some Devil's Due. Is there anywhere in DC proper (or metro accessible VA/MD) that has it? I haven't seen it anywhere.
