Looks like the Dudes' Brewing is coming to Pacific City in Huntington Beach. The new spot is going to be across from Portola Coffee in Lot 579.

The 579 food hall concept lends itself to a tasting room and I had high hopes with all the good breweries in Orange County, including local spots in HB and Costa Mesa, but looks like we get Torrance's third favorite brewery.

Admittedly, I've never tried their beer mostly due to the neutral and negative reviews here on BA so I will give it a shot, but not expecting much.

So this is their 3rd location right?

they had permits posted in on the Peninsula (right by Crowburger) but those seemed to of vanished.

Yep, according to their website a Thousand Oaks tasting room opened over the summer.

Wanted to learn more about them so went to the About page and it says "If you would like to learn more about the people that make the Dudes' brews possible, you're out of luck because it's not about us, it's about our brews, dude."

Google, however, was able to locate some info including head brewer/co-owner Jeff Parker is formerly of The Strand and the primary investor is Toby Humes who made his money in construction.

Their FB page says they are now open. Anybody interested in the DUDES? I only had a few beers from these dudes way back before the OG opened up in Torrance. I thought they were just meh. Haven't given them a second chance or thought. I remember seeing a sh!te load of their collaboration cans > KLOS sitting near the entrance at Total Wine HB for months. WTF! So are they brewing at the HB Pacific location? Or just a tasting room? And this is their 3rd location? Double WTF!!

The origin of dudes brewing has always been ambiguous, but I always just assumed a bottle of shock top made love with a bottle of clown shoes tramp stamp and then, 9 months later...

    But...why?

I mean, good for them I guess but it's the third location for a brewery that makes so-so beer. There's got to be some kind of chicanery!

Also, lets bring back chicanery. That's a fun word to use.

Not that there's anything wrong with the Dudes pulling off a 3rd location. I'm sure they have enough fan dudes that enjoy their beers. If so, more power to them.

Agreed Dudes' seems like a weird choice for 579 which has some great shops like Mahagony Meats from Bishop, Hans Ice Cream, Portola, Bear Flag etc.

Dudes' actual space looked like a bar with TVs everywhere a few weeks ago just before they opened. I'll reserve full judgement until after I try the beers but it looks to me an odd choice given all the other great breweries that could have occupied that spot.

Correct, no room for brewing equipment as far as I can tell.

I might stop in and give them the dudes another (2nd) chance if I'm at the Pacific. Or not. Maybe if I'm there and I'm thirsty and there's nothing at Simmzy's.

The American Dream is open in Lot 579 now, too. Tap lineup was pretty decent when I was there last and the burgers look fantastic.

    I here ya @AlexM
Been to the Pacific twice before. Just after they opened and another when Simmzy's opened. Haven't been back since. No reason to go, except for the scenery and bikinis. Plus I'm centrally located between RiiP & BW.

Does American Dream have a hop cam or on taphunter or something like that? Otherwise I wont hit it up. Hate going into an establishment and there's nothing I like on tap.

This was about a month ago. I found the selection amazing. He said he's working on getting set up on Taphunter.
