Heading to DS from Orlando tomorrow morning. (First leg of MBCP vacation) Should be there a little after they open. My question is... any suggestions on good food I can pick up (or order) and eat at the Brewery? Last time I was there around lunch, I really didn't think things out & scrambled to get lunch. Think I called a place or 2 & they all were closed. Ended up just leaving and stopped someplace I can't remember. So yeah, it couldn't have been that great. I'm not too picky. Za, subs/sandwiches, bbq, sushi, pho...whatever. Help me out Boynton! Would love to find a local, non chain restaurant to have while drinking my DS brews.
I think there was a sub place in the plaza you pass coming from 95. Locals should be able to help with this.
That was one of my thoughts. I've stopped at that Publix before, so I know which one you're referring to. Love me some chicken tender subs! Totally forgot about being able to order beforehand. That may be a winner. Thanks!
If they have it that day, the Mojo (moho) pork makes a great sub or with black beans and white rice a good lunch.
Due South maintains a list of local restaurant menus that will deliver direct to you at the brewery. Just order over the phone and tell them to deliver it to you at Due South. I've done this many times. Just order food once you get to Due South. And depending on what time you'll get there tomorrow there may be a food truck there.
Thanks for the response fellas. Think I'll hit up Publix before the brewery. I just really wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a gem real close to the brewery. Mojo pork you say? Hmmm...I'll have to rethink the chicken tenders if they have that. Mojo pork sub & a Mexican Standoff could be a nice pairing. Well, if anyone is at DS early, find me & we'll have a beer. I'll be the one that smells like some type of Publix prepared meat.
Actually, how about great Cuban street food? Pollo Tropical is right up Congress and is really delicious. I just wrote an article about Due South: http://craftbeergut.com/5/post/2015/01/01052015-new-holiday-traditions.html
You usually can't miss with Publix subs but we do have a number of local options here at the brewery. There is Primo Hoagies that delivers here and they are the best sandwiches I have had in a while. Hope you enjoy your visit here, our taps are filled up.
Have fun Cliff! Wish I were joining you on your MBCP trip but I'll obviously be having more fun at the 1-year old birthday party instead!
There is an amazing burger place in the publix shopping center called between the bun. I work in Boynton and they are amazing burgers. http://www.yelp.com/biz/between-the-bun-boynton-beach 1035 Gateway Blvd Ste 213 Boynton Beach, FL 33426
