Can't leave the house without running into someone I know...ran into a fellow ber-guzzler among the dozen patrons at Dave's BrewFarm last weekend. Good stuff!

I'll second Thirsty Pagean Pizza....I really liked it and Anchor Burgers are a destination stop for some. You can get a 1/2 pound cheeseburger and chips for like $5 bucks. Last time I think I got the triple third pounders for $8 or something like that.

I was there in January and didn't think the beers were great, but they were not bad or sour in any way. They actually had a cinnamon beer that was really quite good.

I had Carmodys IPA at ABR or Winterfest, can recall. Wasnt amazing, but certainly wasnt bad. Between Fitgers, Carmody and Dublinh, Superior street has a pretty good things going. If Clyde Iron works ever gets the brewing going, it will really be good (although that is all the way at the other end of Supeior st)

It's an OK place. My son was playing in a hockey tourney right next door so it was great to go there for food before the game and then hang out for more beers while he went next door to dress and get ready for his game. They had hopslam on tap in February which was way cool! They also have bocce along one wall on the lower level (bar is upstairs) which was nice.

Alright, sorry I was incognito from BA for a bit but here's my assessment
    1) Fitgers, yes is a priority but there are multiple locations with their beer on tap if for some reason (hipster related or not) you get sick of the brew house:wink:
-Tycoons on Superior St. is newly open, has good music and Fitgers beer
-Burrito Union on 4th St. has decent food and a select amount of Fitgers beer
    2) Carmodys does have a decent selection of beer on tap, depending on what is cycling through, the brewmaster is a great guy, as well is the one at Dubhlins. However, I would say Dubhlins doesn't have as exciting house-brews as Carmodys
3)Lake Superior Brewing is a great place, did some volunteer work there, awesome guys and are open to tours almost on a drop of the hat. Definitely worth the drive to W. Duluth
-Clyde Iron Works is a semi-new establishment in W. Duluth that has great food and an awesome atmosphere. If you go to LSB, you should make a stop there as well
    4) Castle Danger is a drive up the shore but can be a nice cruise and is a very interesting brewery/resort. They have pretty good beer too. It can make a convincing argument for a new family vacation:wink:
    5) Sir Bens is a must for lunch, plain and simple. Great beer, great atmosphere, great customer service and excellent food.
    6) As for superior, well, I like to have people experience that for themselves. I promise to buy you a round if you can roll a quarter down Tower Ave. without having it hit twelve bars along the way.
-Keyport Liquor is a great place in WI to pick up some NG. They also have awesome booze specials running all the time.
If you have any more questions BM me. Have a great time!
Oh, and BTW you should definitely go to the Duluth Curing Club, why, you might ask. I'll answer that with a simple John Belushi quote, "Why not?"

Hey all, thanks for all the responses, due to work & other madness we had to push it up to a quick Thur-Sat trip this week. Fitger's was fantastic; both beer & food were much better than I remember. Sir Ben's sandwiches are the real deal, & the tap list was very nice, too. Clyde Iron Works food might have even topped the first two experiences, though their first 'brew', Clyde Ale, is very routine. The service was great.

Only had time to stop at one liquor store, but found a bunch of Abyss 2011 on the shelves, so we grabbed a couple.

Great beer, great food, kids had a blast. Wonder why we don't spend more time in Duluth!

They are actually brewing at Clyde now then? I was there in Nov. and they didnt have any equipment yet. With the size of that building , they could have some serious output.

Its LSB that's doing their "Clyde Brown", I don't foresee any brewing equipment being added to the building in the immediate future.

That is what the waitress told us as well, contract brewing their first beer from Lake Superior Brewing.

Ah, I was thinking Clyde was another cog in Fitgers behemoth haha. Shows what I know.
