    Of course we do.
You'll most probably get it first, so let us know.
If you can, what are the other hops that are used for the dry-hopping?

I’ll report back as soon as I see it and drink it, the Belgians should be the first one to get a taste, but those release usually cross the border to France generally quickly enough.

Sounds irresistibly dangerous; aptly named, then.

We just fairly recently got the regular in town but I doubt that I will see this intriguing rendition.

    I love me some Duvel.
Unless it is one of the Duvel variations.
Duvel triple hop? Anyone remember Duvel Green? How about Duvel on draft? Thought so. Maybe if named something other than "Duvel" they would have been better but it is hard to mess with a classic.

The original is still the best and so far the only for me So let's hope 6.66 is more than a clever attempt.

    Cheers

I'm cautiously optimistic. But there's some terms in there that make it seem a WEE bit gimmicky...

"A beer that strikes the perfect balance between Belgium's rich brewing heritage and contemporary innovation."

"This Belgian beer with a young profile is a combination of Belgian brewing heritage and the latest character."

"For the 6.66% Duvel, no less than 6 different hop varieties are used."

"As with the classic Duvel, the noble and exclusive Saaz and Styrian Golding hop varieties form the basis and are balanced by four expertly selected hop varieties, in particular by applying the dry-hopping technique."

They're not replacing original Duvel, its a new beer, of course its going to have new ingredients like different hop varieties. I'm sure the brewers at Duvel get bored with making the same beer over and over again, nothing wrong with trying out something new. Especially for a milestone like a century and a half in business. I'll probably be in for a single if we see this, I'm not a big drinker of Belgian beer at all so maybe I should revisit regular Duvel as well.

...yes? Drink Duvel Green (which is draft) every time I find it? Actively sought out the triple hop version when it was distributed stateside? Would consider all of these to be highly successful in that they were delicious, distinct but clearly related to Duvel, and invited interest in both them and the original? Basically what I want more breweries to do?

Highly successful? Hardly. I'm glad you like these Duvel, and I don't disagree with your opinion because that is not debatable.

    My opinion is that
    • Duvel Green was a failure. Answered the question nobody asked. Duvel. Only less.
    • Duvel Draft was intended to get the product on draft and resulted in a significantly dumbed down Duvel lacking the famous Duvel rocky head. Also a failure.
    • Duvel Triple hop is Duvel chasing a the wrong market, and not gaining any traction either.
None of these Duvel derivatives have had any real success beyond their middling introduction. The beers are not bad but not successful. I blame it on trying to shoehorn the name Duvel into everything. It's a one-of-a-kind. That means something. The derivatives are set up for failure from day one.

Still I am going to buy this latest Duvel v3.1.

    Cheers

I'm afraid next step will be Duvel 0,0 ...

Anyways I'm looking forward to this 6,66 version. Not seen it here yet, but like @Shanex somewhat close to the source. I'll buy it when I see it.

Eh, all they'd have to say to me is that it's a bottle conditioned triple hop at the same gravity of the single. But I'm not their only potential customer .

Wonder how far off this is from Duvel Single that was canned (but not can conditioned). It rang in around 6.8 and was called Single I assume because of the lack of secondary fermentation.

There was Duvel in a can!?
Nothing would be more badass than sitting in a boat with a buddy, not catching any while getting smashed over a few cans of Duvel.
Must. Have. Apparently few others shared my enthusiasm.

It's still around, as far as I can tell, just from still seeing it on shelves.

Boy, you're really hot and cold. As mentioned in the post you quoted from @donspublic , Duvel in the can is "Duvel Single" - another variant and not the normal flagship beer.

I really enjoyed the Single fermented the few times I had it on draft. This one I will try too if I see a single.

    Enjoy

    No, I love Duvel.

I'm not in love with the others, though they some fine beers. But I Love Duvel.

Duvel, in a can? Sign me up! It is exactly what Duvel Lovers have been asking for! How many times have you wished for a Duvel that's not Duvel, not bottle conditioned, 6.8% ABV, to take fishing? Just wow.
