While sometimes it's the yeast, I think in many cases it's also the malt and maybe something related to their process. For instance the Sam Adams, New Belgium, and Full Sail house flavors carry across both their lagers and ales.

Alpine fits that category as well.

Honestly, just about every brewery has a signature taste.. I can list countless breweries that have this trait..

Yes, yes, and yes. These were the three I was going to mention as well. It seems to me that all the of these have a distinct flavor profile that distinguish them.

I'm so familiar with the hop and malt profiles of these breweries I could pick any out of a blind lineup no problem.

I like that each brewery has it's own house flavor, it's what makes them unique and different from each other.

New Belgium and Great Divide also probably have a house yeast.

Forgot about this one. Definitely ... Fat Tire and Dig both have a "dirty" taste. Not necessarily an awful thing, but not my bag.

Bells definitely. I find a similar taste in very dissimilar styles such as 2 hearted and Oberon.

Lagunitas as well, though I dislike that one.

But I agree, more breweries than don't probably have one.

Sierra Nevada is one of the best examples, it all comes down to their yeast and the water has a distinct mineral quality you can taste in most of their brews.

Southern Tier for me. I live fairly close to the brewery and have been there many times. Typically I can pick out their beers pretty easily.

kind of surprised that no one has mentioned Anderson Valley, they were the first brewery where I was able to notice a distinct flavor across their lineup. I think it's a malt they use, it's got kind of a vanilla/cream soda flavor.

Absolutely. For me, good examples are Sierra Nevada and New Belgium, maybe Boulevard. I also agree with those who said NB is biscuit-like; not my favorite.

FFF, DFH and Stone. You are absolutely right about this subject. You can just smell FFF when you open a bottle of whatever.
