http://la.eater.com/2014/11/24/7277...ouse-an-ambitious-new-brewpub-opening#4347052 didn't realize it was opening so soon. not crazy about Eagle Rock's brews but this looks like a cool place. hopefully the food will be good and they have some guest taps. i'm sure the owners will be happy to finally not have to answer the (reasonable) question of why they named their brewery Eagle Rock Brewing when it's not in Eagle Rock
Yeah I just wished their beer was better. Everything I've tried has been pretty underwhelming but after their up and running maybe I'll give it another chance.
I don't like the bars that don't wrap around a corner. Like this one does but it is obvious you aren't going to be sitting there and it is probably for the servers to take the beers. It is real tough to play a card game down a line. Otherwise it looks really nice, I wonder how chilly that dining area in the corner with the full windows would be in the evening.
Just curious, whats the overall problem with their beer? Is it just that they're more on the lighter ABV and bitterness that doesn't sit well with most people in our area? Do they too often have some detectable flaws? I ask seriously because I tried an IPA of their a few years ago and found it to be surprisingly good, then just a few months ago tried their Solidarity and thought it was excellent as well, and this just after drinking a couple great IPA's at Beachwood along with their Ctrl Malt Del which is a similar style to Solidarity. English styles have never really been my thing either, I drink very little (or hardly any) of them. Just curious from people who drink them more often what their beers are lacking overall. I've been tempted to grab some of their bottles at the store recently, but wonder why they always get the "meh" rap.
