Hey folks, So life is pulling me far afield this week to western MA. I won't have much time but I'd like to get a chance to try something that doesn't get inside of 128 too often. Looking at some of the spots I'd heard of but never visited (Brick & Feather, Abandoned Building, etc) I see a lot that are only open on weekends. Anyone have a suggestion for a brewery that is open early week? No interest in heavy hops, here - browns, porters, stouts, esb's, scotch ales, etc...
You could visit Element's taproom (Millers Falls) open Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Also the local brewpubs are open 7 days a week - People's Pint, Amherst Brewing, High Horse, and Northampton Brewery. The Foundry in Northampton or Five Eyed Fox in Turners Falls are good bar bets for finding local beers from Brick & Feather or Honest Weight seeing that you'll miss their taproom hours. Happy but not hoppy travels!
The Moan & Dove in South Amherst is also a decent bet to have something from Brick & Feather and/or Honest Weight on tap. McLadden's in Northampton has a long tap list, often with interesting local stuff on it (Kent Falls, etc.). You should be able to find Abandoned Building bottles at a bunch of places -- e.g., Provisions in Northampton, Atkins market in S. Amherst, I believe Liquors 44 in either Hadley or Northampton, probably State St Market in Northampton, probably Spirit Haus in Amherst, probably Table & Vine in West Springfield, etc. If you go to Atkins, be sure to try their cider donuts.
Also well worth a stop if you're traveling Route 2 is the Blind Pig in Athol, a serious craft beer oasis! Sample tap list from a couple weeks ago (they don't update online super regularly but ALWAYS have good things) linked: https://www.beermenus.com/places/3090-blind-pig
