Didn't really see any threads currently on this event, unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, but wanted to open up the conversation as we're only 2 weeks away. I missed out on Snallygaster this year but am going to the first session- btw Triple Crossing confirmed on Facebook that the plan is for the second session to have the same allotment as the first, so no need to worry about missing out it looks like. Thoughts for those who have bought their ticket(s) already (or are considering buying)? Any word of what the breweries will be bringing? Personally hoping for some Hardywood stouts.
I am looking forward to it, it would be nice to know beforehand what beers will be there, they haven't posted anything yet, but I assume it is coming.
Just posted some today. More taps to be announced... __________________________________ - Ardent Craft Ales - Triple IPA - Burial Beer Co. - Surf Wax IPA and Bright Lights and Butterfly Blades Sour Ale with Dragonfruit and Muscadine Grapes - Charles Towne Fermentory - DDH Sungazer IPA - Dancing Gnome Beer - Exquisite Beast DIPA - Diamondback Beer - Hop Broth DIPA - Finback Brewery - Psycho Killer Dragonfruit IPA or All Caps IPA - Foam Brewers - Experimental Jet Set DIPA - Good Measure Brewing Co. - Work Weekend Berliner with VT Grown Peaches - Hardywood Park Craft Brewery - Bourbon GBS - Interboro NYC - Premiere IPA and Saisonnier - Kent Falls Brewing - Walking Away In Slow Motion As The Car Explodes Behind You Imperial Sour Ale with Mango and Lime - Magnify Brewing Company - Peak of Ripeness IPA - Manor Hill Brewing - The Cove DIPA with Citra, Galaxy and Denali - Ocelot Brewing Company - Ready Freddie Mosaic IPA - Threes Brewing - Vliet Pilsner - Triple Crossing Brewing - Battle Creek - Triple Crossing Brewing - Waxing Poetic w/ Raspberry - UNION Craft Brewing - Double Duckpin DIPA
Brewery posted a ticket update this morning. - 15 tickets remain for session 1 (Noon - 3:30pm) - "A few more than that for session 2" (5:00pm - 8:30pm)
Other than the initial list posted above? I could be wrong but my understanding is each guest brewery with be pouring 1 beer. There's 17 listed above so only 6-7 left. Forecast is calling for 49 degrees in RVA on Saturday. I'm with the others who have mentioned hoping there's some dark stuff to be announced.
Anyone from out of town coming for ECC be aware that the Richmond Marathon takes place tomorrow. Many of the downtown streets will have closures / detours 4am - 3pm. Best bet is to avoid driving downtown / Broad St. and stick to 64/95. You can exit just below the race start / finish (74B) and should have no problems.
Posted by TBC this morning. I'm sure this may not make some people happy.... "Unfortunately due to final stability Q/A issues, we’ve made this admittedly late decision to offer Waxing Poetic with Raspberry in DRAFT FORMAT only for the festival, which allows us to keep the beer cold and serve it as initially intended. We will not be offering cans as a to-go option."
That raises an interesting question about what's included in the price of the ticket. Were people paying for the ability to buy that beer in cans? It was advertised as part of the ticketed-only event.
Yes. Each attendee would have the ability to purchase 1 4pk each of DDH CG, Battel Creek, WP Raspberry and 1 bottle of Proximity Project. Anything leftover after the festival will be available for the public to purchase beginning Sunday. These were not include with the cost of their entry ticket. What's included in the ticket is 1 4oz pour from each of the 24 breweries attending which I would assume is also going to be around 24 total beers. Maybe a few more with TBC probably serving several of theirs. I can see how some people are upset that the WP cans won't be available as it was an extra incentive to purchase tickets to have the ability to have these cans reserved for them to purchase and take home. Hopefully the brewery will include something extra for attendees to make up for the no WP.
Not many comments on the Fest today. Must be the sign of a smooth flowing evening. Only thing I really saw was one person who posted having to wait a whole 15 minutes to enter.
It was very smooth, never had to wait for pours, lots of variety, walked right in, & didn't feel too crowded. Quite a few of the brewers/employees of some of the out of town breweries were there & chatting too, which was cool.
Great event - only one minor issue which was the line to purchase the cans and bottle at end of session. They can easily fix by having another checkout station open and starting it a little earlier. Great beer and a great time!!! I would be interested to see if anyone posts all the beers that were at the event by brewer.
