Got a friend teaching abroad over there. Any good bottle shops in the area or in neighboring areas with a good selection of beer? Something with a decent selection of American beer would be awesome. Thanks in advance!!

Hops n Pops at 389 Archway Road London N6 4ER . Very close to East Finchley. Has Chimay Beers. Samuel Smith's and a few decent German beers.

In Finchley Central, a walk up the street of shops near Finchley Central Tube station will give your friend a chance to experience the world of East European Beers ... if that appeals. A bottle of Zlaty Bazant - aka Golden Pheasant - Slovakian Pilsner is quite nice. Perla Chmielowa Pils for Poland is rated good on BA.

For American Beers, and some other good international offerings, The Beer Shop in St Albans is worth a visit but not exactly very close by... http://beershopstalbans.com/ They have a really good range. (sometimes including) Speedway Stout. Odell IPA. Green Flash etc from the USA.. although the rotation is always changing, And London's excellent USA hop friendly Kernel brewery is always well represented. They also have some good German and Belgian stuff.

A bit closer is Londis in Kentish Town ... 316 Kentish Town Road NW5 2TH. They have a surprising range of Belgian Beers. A few good tripels and Brugse Zot etc. Looks like a non descript grocery store but has a good beer section.

Much appreciated! I gave them the London guide link on here, so along with your help and that they can get their fix. Thanks again.
