I just saw this post on Facebook.

    .
It is with such a heavy heart that we make the announcement that our beautiful friend Dennis Zentek passed away last night. Dennis with his friend Ray was one of the co-founders, co-pioners, co-visionaries of what has become a huge family. We will share more details later on, but for now we ask that you send love and say prayers and raise a glass to a dear friend who will be so very missed.

Now Dennis & Ray are both gone. Many fond memories at dba. The 1st beer bar that I discovered.

    RIP.

Still haven't made it there, but dba clearly helped set the standard for what a craft beer bar should represent.

Such terrible news. DBA is the oldest of the OG NYC beer bars, hard to believe neither of the co-founders are around to continue enjoying their successes. DBA and Blind Tiger are where I really started figuring out what this craft beer stuff is all about. Haven't been there in a bit, this seems like as good a reason as any to swing by for a couple after work.

DBA was my go to bar when I lived in the EV. RIP Dennis.
